Are you saying that you can turn already made items into ingots?

I think they mean the metal scraps you find.

nah, I mean all of those things like "dwarven strut" "large dwarven plate" "dwarven cog" etc.

And the difference between elven and dwarven would be light or heavy armor I believe.. I'd stick to one side of the tree..

If you want light armor the best is probably the dragon-scale.. so take the left side of the tree up (unless you want daedric weapons, take the right side) if you want heavy armor just take the right side and stop at daedric.

Definitely stick to one side of the perk tree. I wish I had just done the heavy armor side. I wasted a pile of perks on things I won't ever touch again or won't touch for a long time.

I decided on this and didn't even know it's a light armor But I wanna blacksmith that and enchant the hell out of it.

Which armor is better to smith, Dwarven or Elven?

it was a conundrum for me

I am actually playing as a light armored sneak character but since I had all that dwemer metal to make Dwarven ingots I chose to go that route

i haven't found a plentiful supply of moonstone for Elven builds yet

Don't read anything about the game online. I do that during the day at work and I'm miserable until I can get home and do the cool shite I read about.

Really shouldn't be a conundrum because you raise smithing so fast you will be beyond ever touching those again pretty quickly.

I just wish I hadn't used so many perks on both sides. Other than Daedric, I won't even smith anything again.

probably true

I suppose it was just the first skill tree that I felt the need to develop both sides of

Just walked out of the apprentice mage quarters into the the main courtyard and an ANCIENT dragon was sitting there waiting for me.

It was last night so nobody was around to help.

I kicked his arse.

I think I'm going to move the difficulty to expert now. Ever since I got daedric weapons with lvl 100 enchants, I've been kicking everyone's arse.

Now that I can stick two enchantments on items, I need to rebuild a new set of daedric and daedric weapons but I am waiting a bit longer until I can make a real nice Fortify enchantment potion.

Then I will be a serious badass.

I thought the same thing, but one Sunday of all day smithing had me at lvl 100 and I wasted a lot of perk points.

If your build uses light armor then best to go that way and if you use heavy, stick to that branch.

Leveling has slowed to a crawl for me now that I am 50 so I wish I had used my perk points a little better and I could really use those wasted smithing points.

I actually found a dragon priest mask I like that has semi decent armor.

I mainly wear it for the permanent water breathing so I never need to worry about poking around underwater.

Plus I love the mask and hood look more than the daedric helm look.

Just hit 81 alchemy, have been going from city to city just buying all ingredients. Just threw all of a shops ingredients from their shelves in front of the counter so I could crouch down and steal their shite since my character isn't exactly sneaky, haha.

I'm usually able to break even by just selling the potions right back.

Early on gold is a problem but now, I don't really need it.

In Whiterun just make sure you sell things to ALL of the merchants.

Sell mage items and staffs to the court wizard.
Sell junk potions to the ALchemist

Sell weapons and armor to the general store, the armor shop and the arrow shop.

You do need to actually do some questing now and then. You don't have to do main quests, you can just ask the bartender for work.

As you level alchemy, the potions really do start to increase in price if you make the right ones. At this point I have more than I can sell without visiting a bunch of cities.

Yeah.. I don't pay attention to my gold anymore.. With blacksmithing and enchanting maxed there's next to nothing to spend it on (besides houses when I get opportunities)

Sitting on about 50k I think.
