Are you guys creating those legendary items? I never loot anything worth a shite off of anyone. Does anyone drop any rare items that are better than any player crafted stuff?

Legendary is from improving the item with smithing.

I think the legendary stuff is improved by crafting. There are unique items that can be found in the world.
The higher level you get the higher level the gear you find. I started seeing ebony around level 30 or higher.

I need to spend more time crafting. Still though do any rare items drop from any rare creatures or even just rare drops at all?

Very beginner question, why in breeze home or whatever it is called (house you buy in whiterun) does the bed in the main room say it is occupied and not allow you to sleep in it. I paid the 5k for the house, you would think I own it amd should be able to sleep wherever.

Your bed is in the loft area - I think that is supposed to be Lydia's bed?

If your smithing is high enough, you can actually upgrade items from rare drops.
Eventually, once you have 100 smithing and high enchanting, most of the items you make will be far superior to drops.
Daedric quest items are good early in the game but once you can make your own daedric items and bump them to legendary, then you will make the best items.
And once you can make a good fortify enchanting potion, then you drink it and enchant smithing on the 4 items that let you fortify smithing, then put those on and drink a fortify smithing potion and make a super duper badass daedric set and daedric items, then go back and enchant those with another enchant potion and then you have a nice end game set.

well this is annoying.. it won't let me absorb this dragon's soul..

I had one dragon glitch and not burn up.
Really not much of a problem. Dragons are all over the dang place. I've probably killed 30 at this point.

That happens for me from time to time don't know if it's a bug or intended.

While I agree, it's annoying.. so I just used the console command to add 1 soul when the dragon didn't give it to me. I earned it damn it!
ETA - Console command if you want it Spaced to possibly prevent temptation? lol
Player.modav dragonsouls x (x=#ofsouls)

Buy iron, iron ore, leather, and leather strips from the smith at the gate of Whiterun. Smelt, make, and sell. "wait" a day or two, rinse and repeat.

I'll report back this evening.

Make sure you buy from both her and her hubby inside.

Will do. And btw if it hasn't already been said a million times, this game has broken the mold on AI interaction, story lines, graphics, etc. I had taken my clothes off for the party quest and I ran through the bar. The barkeep made some smart arse comment about forgetting to put my clothes on before leaving the house.

there is ZERO benefit to using higher metals. I think this is stupid but it is a fact.
So smithing iron daggers is the way to go.
The smith right next to breezehome has everything you need. She and her husband have different bars.
I would hit a dungeon between smiting runs to get some extra cash to buy bars.
Pick one side of the smithing perks. One side is heavy armor and the other is light armor. I did them all but wish I had just picked the heavy armor route to making dragon items.
