As far as I could tell, it was just a huge desert. But I was near death most of the time so it was all black and white and fading in and out.. But I went all sorts of directions and never saw trees or anything.

Last I could tell I ran all the way to the western end of the railroad, then I went back east some and got hit by some zombies while trying to find some water/food (found none), managed to get free of zombies chasing me, bandaged, started running north.. and kept running, and kept running, and kept running thinking I was going to hit Pavlovo on the map. Eventually I got to nothing but what looked like desert. If I had to guess, I was stuck in that big desert-looking underneath Vybar.
P.S. I have Day Z commander.. anyone else use it?

Hulk I believe you ran off the side of the map. I did this too when I first started playing, wasnt no trees, grass, or anything, just ground and sky.

Maaaan some gaylord shot me. I spawned in Komarovo, ran up to Pavlovo, then went to the first high-yield spot above Pavolo, found 2 cans of Pepsi and a crossbow and 3 arrows. I was excited because there's another high yield spot not far away, right? I'm running through the forest to get the high yield spot, not far from it.. POW... dead, one shot.

Woot, much better luck this time! Found a rifle and a ton of ammo, 2 cans of soda, and a can of beans. Maybe I'm ready to survive a while, assuming nobody shoots me again
