Yeah this ain't my first rodeo with From. Bloodborne is one of my favorite games ever. I fully anticipate the wall to come, especially after the trouble I had with just one miniboss.
I was about to say that I dont remember sucking that much at Bloodborne, but then I recalled the first time I fought a werewolf and raged for hours on it.

Finally beat that sumbitch. With a keyboard and mouse mind you.
I missed a piece to get the good, good ending. So I only got the good ending.

I was so pumped the first time I made it past the mob at the bonfire and then the dogs on the bridge proceeded to piss all in my cheerios.

I rewatched the opening story cinematic and it makes so much more sense now.
I had basically completely forgotten about it till I just rewatched it now. I recognized some parts of it visually but I realized I had very quickly 100% completely forgotten (or simply didn't pay enough attention to) any of the actual information provided.
It's hard to remember anything from a 4 minute cutscene when you start getting 10, 20, 30 hours into a game.
That tends to happen to me in these FromSoftware games. People say the stories are cryptic but the opening cutscenes actually contains a lot of pertinent information to the world and the lore. Dark Souls 1 especially, same effect happened to me in that game. I fought all the bosses mentioned in the story intro having no idea who they heck they were or what was going on really. Rewatched the opening cutscene and was like "WTF how did I not retain any of this info?"
I think what's happening is these games don't harp on the info you see in the opening so you tend to forget a lot of it pretty quickly, and you have absolutely no context when you first watch it so you don't retain much in terms of what's important and what's not.
Next FromSoftware game like this I'm going to watch the opening cut scene repeatedly and drill it into my brain.

DoH and 2 Headless are down. Time to knock out the last 3, grind a bit of endgame, then proceed to the final battle

On the very last boss. I’m raping him the first two phases usually going no damage like 70% of the time, but his last two phases suck. Love the fight though so not too upset about it. It’s got a great flow to it.
Biggest complaint so far, as with all from games, is the side quests. Most of them are just not even slightly clear as to how they can be completed. I looked up how to get the secret ending and it’s so ridiculous how much obscure bull shite you have to do to get it. Also dragon rot was a dumb idea.

i think the purification ending is the most convoluted. so much bullshite and eavesdropping, i never would've guessed to eavesdrop in kuro's room
for Return i got the 2 serpent hearts on my own and it didnt seem as complex.

good idea, but poorly implemented. it should've had a greater impact, but it should've applied to resurrections only - not true deaths. make people weigh the benefits and consequences of resurrecting.

Yeah it should have been flushed out more. I was surprised there was no sort of skill or ability or anything to get above the 30% default aide chance too. It also isn't really impactful. All it does is prevent npc quest lines from progressing.
It's sort of feels like a half thought out feature and most people will just end up ignoring it.

I got no idea
This thread made me think I had downs for a while since everyone was so far ahead. Also I don’t even know what those serpent hearts you’re talking about are so maybe that has something to do with it. Haven’t been exploring every nook and cranny but I’ve tried to take down every miniboss I’ve seen (except for round 2 with Mr. Douchebag Seven Spears). With that said I have found a decent amount of gourd seeds, esoteric texts, and prosthetic tools so I don’t think I’ve missed too many of the important items.
100%, would have been much better.

may want to explore a bit more. i have all prosthetic abilities except the 4 lapis tools, all prayer beads, all gourd seeds, and about 15k worth of purses. make sure you have everything you can get before going to NG+.
ETA: Found this for you
Checklist
quote:
-Purchase Withered Red Gourd, Mottled Purple Gourd, Green Mossy Gourd
-Collect all Prayer Beads and Gourd Seeds
-Kill all Terror enemies
-Collect all Treasure Carp Scales
-Create Dancing Dragon Mask
-Purchase Dragonspring Sake from Mibu Memorial Merchant (I don't think all the Sake uses and combinations have been discovered, I am holding on to all of mine and Monkey Booze)
-Get the Hidden Tooth
-Purchase Five-color Rice
-Collect all Lapis Lazuli

I finished up 2 days ago and wanted to take some time off to sort of recharge, I put in 80 hours over 8 days to finish my first playthrough. Obviously neglected a lot of real world shite int he process.
But all I've wanted to do is start my NG+ playthrough ASAP, a testament to how good the game really is. Plus there are a few bosses unique to which path you choose to take at the major decision point so I want to see them too.
I think the final boss fight struggle finally made me a legit player.
I def. died more times in Sekiro than any of the other FromSoftware Souls'esque games by a wide margin.
Those other games I died a lot early but by mid game was coasting. Sekiro I died a shite ton early, noticeably less in the middle, and then a shite ton again late.

On final boss. It’s definitely a challenge

same here. did everything I could possibly do in a playthrough and decided to advance. gonna do the backup save trick to get all 3 ending trophies once i beat him. he's quite the arse kicker though. bet it's gonna end up like Slave Knight Gael though - once you figure it out, you'll whip his frickin arse

I beat his motherfrickin arse the next round. Still had 5 gourd gulps left
It's exactly as I said. Once the boss clicks for you, it's almost a joke. Just like Artorias, Gael, Fume Knight, etc. God, what an incredible boss

Absolutely. It makes every other boss seem so easy in comparison.
