Keep in mind you have to do one of the "good" endings at least once to complete the mask as well.

You won't be able to access the....guy? ...who sells you the final piece.

Just beat the chained ogre....did not have a problem with that. The next mini boss right after him is making me butt hurt. I keep getting nailed by those guys with guns who can't freaking miss.

I'm on the final boss of the longest "good" ending, the one where you have to do the most shite anyway.

I beat the special boss this ending unlocks and it was a doozie, took me like 2 hours straight and seemed impossible but finally got him.

I'm on the REAL last boss now of this ending but it's a multi phase fight, the first few I've got down, phase 3 absolutely wrecks me hard, can't even begin to get any traction, just gotta keep at it.

I also confirmed you have to manually choose to go to NG+, you don't automatically go there after killing the final boss like most From games, so you can hypothetically finish up missing things in your playthrough if you so choose.

In more general terms, I've been trying to an understand how how boss vitality and posture work together. I don't think it's a linear formula, I think there are certain thresholds.

Like if the boss is say over ~75% he regains posture EXTREMELY fast, you gotta stay on top of them and attack/deflect nonstop. If you have the bar mostly full but then lose traction, you are going to lose a ton of progress quickly.

Between ~75-50% the regain rate seems to go down noticeably, his posture recovers decently fast but not so fast you feel panicked if you have to take a minute to catch your own breath or heal.

Sub 50%'ish the regain rate is slow and easily overcome.

And when the boss gets very low, he essentially doesn't regain posture at all, it's so minimal it can be ignored completely.

I'm usually not good enough to combo/deflect them perfectly right away so I sorta chip at their HP till they are at 75% HP and then go ham on them, and I can usually break their posture this way with having enough wiggle room not to be perfect.

Yep, finally reached the final phase after hours of attempts. I'm pretty sure I got it clocked now, just need a clean run.

If any of my neighbors heard me tonight they’re gonna think I’m a huge racist. I’ve been screaming “frick you monkey phaggots” for the past hour whenever I got to the double guardian ape fight

Well, he's down... Longest boss fight of my life by a wide margin.

I got really good at phase 1 & 2 but they are still hard enough to die (or waste too many heals) that ruined a lot of runs

My main problem was phase 3, I absolutely sucked at it and practicing it was difficult cuz it was gated by the annoying 1&2. I eventually devised a workable strategy... Only problem is it was tedious as hell and required 20 minutes of perfection. I'd make it to phase 4 occasionally (which is similar to 3) on fumes. After hours of failure later, I had him at 1% and promptly died. It was my "all in" run, popped every consumable I could to keep it going. But for not. Went in for the final kill and he did a move he almost never does, was an epic troll.

I wasn't mentally able to keep trying my brute force tedious method so began experimenting again on phase 3. Eventually figured out an improved plan and within 3 more legit attempts, I got him.

I heard NG+ was extremely tough so I'll likely take a break for a few days.

Prayers sent. Now look at this video of someone doing a no damage run on that same boss

These people are fricking freaks at video games.

The reason the fight was hard was because I was trying to do it on my terms, the old dark souls approach: Evade or defend till you get a safe attack window, poke a few times, then get distance and setup again.

In Sekiro that's not how they want you to play. You can do most of the bosses that way if you want (and I mostly did) but it's non-optimal. However they did include a few bosses you essentially are required to do the right way (attack, deflect, counter - constantly and fluidly)

SPOILERS and stuff below...

The waypoint's name being "Kuro's Room" is just something to indicate his location.

Yes this confused me. I initially thought exactly what you described, that Kuro was from elsewhere and taken there as a prisoner. But the waypoint name made me think it was his actual room for some reason which didn't make any sense because I wondered where all his homies were.

The ministry's soldiers are the guys at the very end in the big battle I meant.

I captured a few videos of me downing the bosses that I struggled the most with

Me killing endgame boss with initials DoH

PEPE vs DoH

Me killing endgame boss with initials ISS

PEPE vs ISS

Pretty clean kills overall on both, especially DoH considering how many times I wiped on them up to that point.

By dudes in purple I meant these dudes. They didn't show up much but were pretty tough when they did, both as mini bosses and as regular mobs.

Just wanted to check in to say I can barely play due to newborn baby, but I just beat the first miniboss after about 2 hours on him.

This is gonna be rough.

I got the bell right after and ended up at the Estates. Should I push through it or gi back to the main world?

either way. the estate is a standalone area and you branch off in the present time

Most of the hirata estates are pretty low level mobs and clearly supposed to be a starting zone along with the the outskirts, so you can do whichever, especially if you're stuck one place. The last few sections and bosses are tough though. Most people are gonna do a big chunk and revisit it I'd imagine, that's what I did.

Eventually you'll likely hit a point where a boss or miniboss is blocking both your path in the outskirts and at the estates and you just gotta git gud to progress.
