Dammit, same situation but they traded Hill for Patrick Patterson, who thinks he's Steph Curry all the sudden with his 72 3pt rating

I caved and spent $10 for VC the other night to max out my guy's strength. I surprisingly see no difference in his post abilities. 7'3 Center

I spent $40 on VC right when it came out. I don't enjoy the "grind" and I like playing online (hate my career). So I figured why waste my time and grabbed a couple extra hours of OT at work that week.
134513475837645 hours of grinding or clock a couple extra hours at work. Easy choice for me.

I can never commit to just one player in mycareer. I have 3 right now.
A point guard that can penetrate and pass so I can run the team. He's 6-2 and fast. Can't shoot very well.
So I made a SF that can dunk like a champ and make plays. He's pretty fun, but not a great shooter.
My favorite is a 7-2 Center that is a 2 way post player. Love grabbing rebounds, blocking shots and getting second chance points. Just got promoted to starter.
I bought the VC to plus them all up to the low 80s. I've got the money and no other expensive hobbies so I don't really mind. I generally say I'm going to just plus up the physical traits because that's realistic. You don't go from a 65 speed to a 99 speed as you get older...same with vertical, quickness, ect. Then I get drunk and plus up everything else.
I like playing the games and practice, but the other stuff is really getting on my nerves. I hate the loading times. The neighborhood seems like a good idea until you spend 10 minutes waiting on loading times and pointless conversations that you can't skip just to get a hair style. All the BS with Shammy and the other guys is almost ruining it for me. There is nothing of substance and it has nothing to do with making your player better or different. Either abandon this shite or let us at least skip it. I want to spend my time doing basketball stuff, not watching the 3 stooges.
I'm pretty sure when I get drunk this weekend I'll be making a 4th player. I want a shooting guard that does nothing but knock down open shots.

I usually play as a PG to get the ball mostly and drain threes, but this year I am a 7'3" Center and I'm having way more fun. I'm a Post Offense/Defense archetype I believe. I'm grabbing about 15 rebounds per game and now scoring over 20 points per game. Blocking shots is always exciting too.

See I too have wanted to make another my player but the slow arse grind makes me pass on doing that. I’ve been sitting at 88 ovr for awhile now. I finally got my attribute bar to 100% giving me more unlocks, and those unlocks still didn’t take me to an 89 ovr.
The grind is killing me.
Like you said though the cutscenes are ridiculous and irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. There’s zero story, it’s just random dumbass skit after skit.
I really miss last year as far as the individual parks instead of the boring and bland one this year. Also not being able to change attire on the fly like in 17 and having to go back to your freaking McCourt that 95% of the time will trigger a cutscene is ridiculous. As Klark Kent said, whatever happened to direct deposit of the VC? Nah let me go run the block and pickup and envelope from my agent lol :|

I'm pretty sure they made that floor sweeper guy a little mentally slow and are basically making fun of him the whole time

now that you say that i'm never going to be able to get thru another cutscene involving him again without thinking that.

Every time your agent hits you up to give you your endorsement money (VC) he makes you run down to his office to pick up an envelope.

Yeah I think I'm only 18-20 games into my career. Strictly Pro-am, my park, training facility for me. Up to an 89, but I'm sure it'd be quicker to get there playing MyCareer.

re: Official NBA 2K18 ThreadPosted by Klark Kent on 10/11/17 at 2:27 pm to Lazy But Talented
nah. not by much if so.
i get more VC if we play at the Park all night. I can get an A+ and drop a 25 points, 10 assists, and 10+ rebounds type of game. Then only get 800-900 VC. 8-9 minute quarters, plus cut scenes, plus getting in a practice between each game, and going to the Training Center to keep my stamina boost up. That's about 45 minutes i take to get a game in for 800-900 VC. in 45-60 minutes on a win streak I can rack up 4-5 MyPark games and 1000-1200 VC.
But at the same time by not progressing the story line you are missing out on the gatorade, mountain dew, reeses, and eventually shoe company occasional payouts. I don't have a shoe deal yet, but I'll pick up one of the checks we are talking about probably every 4-5 games and it'll total to 1k VC.

So just missing out on VC is the only negative of skipping MyCareer then?
I have about 40k in VC and I really don't see any reason to spend it on anything except the occasional shirt and attribute upgrades that don't seem to come too often.
For how much of a money grab 2k has become I am very surprised they got rid of the boosts and Gatorade. That's what nearly all of my VC went towards last year...and I'm not even sure if really had any affect on my player.

there are still boosts and still Gatorade. Where have you been homie?
re: Official NBA 2K18 ThreadPosted by Lazy But Talented on 10/11/17 at 3:04 pm to Klark Kent
You can buy them? Like last year
It was so easy to press start click a button then get all the boosts and gatorade.
I don't want to know where they are if so. I'll save all my VC.
ETA: Guess I haven't explored this game enough

I just realized there is a subway you can take from one part of the neighborhood to the other.

I am enteing the playoffs and I don't have the Mountain Dew or Reeses endorsements. I have my own shoe and the gatorade payouts. I wonder if my game has a bug or some shite because shouldnt I get all 4 by now?
