Pretty much.

The way they are losing is hilarious though. Run down mid while Huni ends the game splitting, never adjusting to or dealing with the split push meta being back.

Between them getting 6th place last split for only 10 points it's unlikely they'll qualify for the gauntlet to even try a miracle run for Worlds.

They have CLG, 100T, OpTic and TL remaining.

The only teams they've beaten in the last 3 weeks is last place Clutch and 9th place GGS.

KT Rolster finishes LCK in 1st place, they get a bye to the LCK Summer Finals as a result.

Wildcard match is Sunday.

Gen.G (Samsung) vs Afreeca Freecs

winner vs King-zone DragonX

winner vs Griffin

winner vs KT Rolster

quote:

fricking calling it now. Griffin beats Kingzone in the semifinals and then beats KT in the finals for the first seed. Kingzone ends up with more points than KT and takes the second seed.

KT gets put into the finals of the gauntlet and meet Gen.G(Samsung) for the heart break classic.

We have reached peak KT Rolster.

FWIW, TSM completed a 2-0 to tie for 6th. One game back of the 3 way tie for third.

TSM has a head to head against Optic for sole control of 6th and both have generally equivalent other games (liquid and 100T respectively).

Meanwhile FQ probably has the easiest schedule to locking up third, but EF and C9 both have tough games left.

Setting up for an exciting finish.

TSM needs to beat Optic, or else they are probably out. Optic won the first match and if they win again, TSM would lose to Optic in tiebreaker.

TSM would then need to win vs TL, and have FLY or C9 go 0-2 to force tiebreaker match.

It makes for a very interesting last weekend of the summer split, which is enjoyable. Just depends on the play styles of both Optic and TL. If they decide to play slow control games, like 100 did, I give the advantage to TSM.

What is pretty interesting is the climb that C9 has done the last 8 games. They have the best record in the NALCS for that game span and are on a 6 game win streak now. I can easily see them 2-0 this weekend if they keep this momentum going. Its kinda crazy to see after how they started the split.

Who knew Sneaky might be better than Keith. Obviously a lot of their moves have turned out really well. They have discovered some home grown talent.

Griffin comes back from down 2-1 to end the miracle run from Afreeca, fighting back from a 6K gold deficit and 2 barons to win game 5.

KTR vs Griffin in LCK championship. Won't be for 3 weeks though, Sept 8th.

KTR now qualifies for Worlds based on points no matter what. If they win the finals, Afreeca gets the 2 seed on points.

Pending the results of the tiebreakers tomorrow:

Liquid is No.1 seed and defending champs so they are still 'the favorites'

C9 is probably the best team playing right now.

TSM is on the upswing.

FOX and 100T look to be on the down.

FLY is hard to guess, they win, but not convincingly.

For the first time in their history, G2 does not make EULCS finals or semifinals. Misfits 3-0 sweeps.

Fnatic has now qualified for Worlds.

They are grilling that draft pretty hard too. I bet TSM doesn't bring Ssong back.
