The difference with this game is that things you can buy, can be found. If you play enough you can find the best equipment. Nothing that can only be bought with real money will be put in the game.
And eventually I'll play hardcore. But I would like to keep my character after I die, especially until I beat each difficulty.
One accidental death in hardcore and you're starting back from scratch.

I can't imagine how hard I would rage if I died in Act 4 with a hardcore character.
I get angry thinking about it.

Losing your gear sucks...hafta play with friends and have "loot corpse" on to recover your gear.
Dying is a bitch though, but escaping near death is such a rush.
If you hafta start over, oh well, its just a game, try harder next time
Altho I didn't play hardcore until I was burnt out on core on d2... I knew all the maps, bosses, useful skills before embarking on hardcore
Lost 5+ level 70ish assassins...no regrets

Regardless, it's stupid that someone that is willing to shell out that money can get the gear much, much easier, faster, and put in less time than I would have to to get that same piece. That's my discrepancy.

I haven't paid attention to the detailed specifics
Is the real life money auction house thing not available on hardcore?
Or are you assuming people won't spend the $ on the hardcore char due to death...because, they most certainly will (loot corpse upon death)

That's how I feel. Most of the fun for me was playing the game and doing runs over and over again in D2. Made actually GETTING the item that much more rewarding.
However I don't really care if someone pays for their stuff. Especially stuff that isn't only on the money auction house.
That's what bothers me, when someone can buy something I CAN'T get. But since that's not an issue in this game I don't really care.

Just bought the game with knowing pretty much nothing about it.
After reading game guides and watching youtube videos, I'm still a little confused how it works. I guess I'll just figure it out as I go though.

Nothing better than beginning a day in trade chat with 1 'x' rune, and turning that into like 5 or 6 peices of armor + the same rune at the end of the day
I hope this auction house doesn't take away from trade/trade chat... I spent hours monitoring the value of shite like a stock market (yeah I was obsessed)

What are the prices gonna be like for items?
Posted on 5/13/12 at 8:26 pm to The Finch
Anywhere from 10 cents to more than a hundred dollars for the rarest and godliest shite I imagine.
Especially when pvp comes into play. High ilvl super rare super powerful weapons always fetched a lot on eBay in Diablo II.
Diablo II had these incredibly rare runes, which were required for runeword items, which required multiple rare runes...prices can and will get high if d3 has super rare shite, I'm speculating
shite I want to say,in Diablo 1, the rare unique shite like the Grandfather bastard sword and the uber unique bow with magic arrows fetched $300 on eBay?
