I ran uchi my entire first play through, I went sharp and had lots of stamina and Dex. I was very much a glass cannon.

I also put a lot into vit so I could stay under 30% equipment load. With the katana special dash and the extra frames of invincibility, it was pretty fun.

Really really really hating these catacombs of carthus. Least fave zone so far. The stretch run to the bonfire after the skeliballs was by far my least proud and most puss performance so far.

i really havent been stuck or that frustrated in this game yet. With the ability to summon, all the articles complaining about an easy mode seem unfounded. I broke 3 ps3 controllers last yyear playing Fifa, but havent launched one during souls yet, and i figure im nearing mid game. Im sure my confidence ensures a nasty difficulty spike in the near future.

Been trying to find a new weapon, but i just cant seem to replace my broadsword. Really digging the farron greatsword, but i suck with it.

Took down Dragonslayer armour last night on 3rd try. Really isn't too bad if your not being pelted by fireballs from that thing in the sky. Whoever thought that was a good idea just sucks. I should have beat him on my 2nd try but got nailed by one then he caught me in a combo.

Really torn on what ending to do on my first play through. Give the eyes and do the dark or not? Does it really matter?

I've never "respeced" before, you can do this up to 5 times each play through?

beat the princes last night.. Pretty intense fight, took me about 5 trys.

The way the walk-up to them on the bridge was setup reminded me so much of boleterian place from demon souls. Was in my feels.

so after actually doing some research... getting below 30% equipment load gave me 0 extra iFrames... and the roll you get from 30% equipment load actually kinda sucks, because it puts you so far away from the enemies... I was hindering myself even more than I thought

Forget the luck build.... Go heavy barbed straight sword with Carthus rouge buff and get ready for the lulz. This is OP.

Luck accelerates the bleed rate. It's perfect for the barbed straight sword build and for Anri's straight sword. I'm doing the same and using twin daggers for my second playthrough. Vig/End/Luck/Int build. With some attunement. Carthus rouge everything.

I also discovered that you can't add carthus rouge to bleed infused weapons, and the infusion only increases the amount of HP loss per bleed, not the actual bleed rate. The infusion is not worth it.

Question for anybody.

What does reinforcing a shield do? Just increase absorption?

The difference in hollow vs heavy is about 40 ar and with the points in luck for hollow you increase bleed damage by 6. So it's 90 vs 84 bleed damage. Either way I make anyone bleed in three hits.

Just played with it at rosaria

So i beefed up my executioners sword (just finished reading book of the new sun so it feels appropriate) and the catacombs are a breeze now. It crumbles all the skeletons in one strike so i can make them my bitch while they put themselves back together. Guess this stage just required a heavy weapon. I love this game.

Took down the princes last night. Only the final boss left but I know I was missing a boss. If I didn't read through this thread I would have no idea about the nameless king. Finally had to look up online to see where that is. How the hell are you supposed to find him on your own?

Getting close to finishing my first play through. Besides killing the NPCs in fire link shrine and buying as much supplies, weapons, armor and any upgrades of weapons what else should I do?

Think I am just going to do the regular ending first. I'll give the eyes in my 2nd play though then maybe try for the others after.

eh... you just kind of have to know that gestures are extremely important in this game... and there was a message for "try gesture" in the dungeon.

But yeah, you just kinda have to put two and two together... or have the strategy guide

You can summon one of them, black crystal them out, then summon another. That's what I did. But I still had to go to NG+ to get the final gesture I was missing from Heysel, since I chose to do Sirris quest line first in NG.
