I actually understand and see both sides of the Kojima argument.

He's undeniably a visionary who has created some amazing ground breaking games that are clear masterpieces. I can't express how much MGS1 blew me away.

But he's also at times seemingly forgot he's making video games and video games are not movies. I can deal with lots of cut scenes and such in my game, but there should absolutely never be more than 10 or so minutes of cutscenes in a row without any gameplay.

I initially gave up on playing MGS3 TWICE because the first 2-3 hours of that game are essentially just cut scenes and dialog. Years after it came out, I eventually got through it and MGS3 is indeed a great game.

So yeah, if you want a very heavy story driven game, that's perfectly fine, just do a really good job of integrating the story into the gameplay in small, digestible chunks.

Dumping 2 hours of straight cut scenes is absolutely not the way to go.

Regardless, I'll likely end up getting Death Stranding.

Amazing how much people just touch themselves and get starry eyed when they see the name Kojima.

Hey now, some of us like playing a game for 15 minutes just to watch 3 hour cutscenes.

I love Kojima but I struggled through MGS4, it was like the king of cut scenes.

Damn this looks great. Gameplay I'm still a little worried about but they got my attention.

Edt: I can't get over how it goes from walking simulator to that.. love it.

It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.

Thanks Kojima, but from my experience the poopfish69’s of the Xbox world don’t exactly embrace the whole communal aspect of gaming as one might think.
