I picked this lil' guy up the other day and it wasn't quite plug-n-play due to an issue with MSI laptops. It was fixed by uninstalling the latest NVidia drivers and installing the latest MSI had approved (430 vs 417, I think).

After that though... holy sheepdip! The feeling of immersion is incredible! I put up the space exterior in my home and standing at the edge of it looking out into space made me feel that if I let go of my controller it would fall into that vastness to be lost forever.

I picked up the Spiderman trial freebie and another freebie (can't remember the name), the Rise of Vader game (it was only $10 and it made me realize I am nowhere near a Jedi) as well as went through the tutorials. Lots of fun but I feel like they haven't really scratched the surface yet of what can be done.

Who else has hopped onto the VR train and what are your thoughts/recommendations?

I also grabbed a Rift S. So far my favorites have been Robo Recall and Mage's Tale.

ETA: I've also got Skyrim VR running and fully modded. That....was an experience.

Owned a Vive, have a Vive Pro, will have an Index tomorrow.

Have a Quest that I use for travel.

I like Oculus touch controllers, but the Oculus is limiting. I have a pair of Knuckles DVs that make the touch controllers unessential and get the Index controllers tomorrow. I have the wireless kit for the Vive Pro, which I will be sad to lose when I switch to Index. Have tracker pucks for full body tracking which can be a lot of fun.

VR is starting to get pretty immersive, but I don't think it is quite ready for mass consumption. We are still seeing way too many demo type games or ports. Not games that put everything together specifically built for VR.

I've met a lot of very interesting people from diving full bore into it. Opened some interesting opportunities for me.

I just got a Quest. I wanted a standalone wire free system. A bit of a risk on my part because I tend to shy away from simple arcade style shooters but the demo for Beat Saber has me sold on the potential.

RE7 on the PSVR was heart pounding great. I still need to get into Borderlands 2 when I have enough time to force myself past the motion sickness threshold.

Hate you. Won't get mine until next month.

I expect a full rundown report this weekend.

Will do, glad I got fridays off, so no signature required nonsense will stop me from getting it tomorrow.

Index is here, the screens are definitely very nice, not a bump from a Vive Pro much, but if you are coming from a Rift or Vive, it's a large jump with very minimal screen door. Downside is colors, Vive Pro is OLED, Index is LCD. Colors were definitely better in OG Rift, Vive, and Vive Pro.

controllers are very similar to the DVs I already have, but are a huge step up from the crappy vive wands. Not as big of a jump from a oculus touch.

It is exceedingly comfortable on the head, much nicer than any headset I have or have tried. The magnetic face guard is super nice too.

Picked up the Rift S and I'm loving it. Modded Skyrik VR has been pretty amazing. Having a lot of fun with Trover and Gorn as well.

I played the shite out of Skyrim on console when it was first released, definitely thinking about getting it for VR. Another one I am looking at is " Blade and Sorcery" (the physics are INSANE, they now have climbing/gripping)
