It's like The Sims crossed with Harvest Moon. There is no traditional "gameplay" like quests and action. You manage and island and it's inhabitants via what you build, design, create, etc.

So we get big ports in 3d Mario games, we get another port in Paper Mario it looks like. We'll get a big Animal Crossing Update in late fall most likely (although they have already flashed risk to the release timeline). And I bet there's another 3rd party port we get for Christmas as well.
