man i used to play the DMCs over and over when I was younger. I'll prob get this, but there's way too much lame Japanese stuff going on in these latest trailer. the scantily clad southern chick trope that has been popping up in jap games is so lame

In this case, she's the granddaughter of an already established character who somewhat acts that way.
Nico is the granddaughter of Nell Goldstein, the woman who created the Coyote-A (Dante's magazine-loaded shotgun) and the pistols Ebony and Ivory, and the daughter of Agnus, one of the weird Angel/Insect cultists from DMC4.
She makes the comment in the trailer about the Kalina Ann Version 2 (Kalina Ann is the pimped out rocket launcher that Mary/Lady uses), "This is for Lady...and she paid for it, so consider it a rental!"

After 200 hours of extremely slow and methodical RDR2 I'm ready for the fast paced insanity game play.
I also love how cheesy and over the top it is. The trend in gaming has been for games to take themselves super serial.
Sometimes you just want to put on a cowboy hat and attack demons with a motorcycle.
That's where the dmc remake went wrong. Devil May Cry is supposed to be kinsa ridiculous, it's part of it's charm.

I just don't get that.. I felt like the new dmc WAS over the top and ridiculous, and the gameplay in the game was some of the most fluid and fun.
That being said: I can understand why people didn't like it though, especially with the trolling the developers did in it, with the wig scene and stuff.

DANTE IS NOT AN EMO frickTARD.
VERGIL IS NOT A BORDERLINE GAY MALE MODEL.
That's where they went wrong in DMC. I actually like their version of Mundus, as basically a demonic Wilson Fisk.

In preparation for DMC5 in a few months I am replaying the other DMC games (minus 2 which is total garbage and minus the reboot because f*k it).
I'm on DMC3 right now and I had forgotten how utterly bitching difficult the original PS2 US release is.
Capcom actually shifted the difficulties one level higher in the original PS2 US release. That is to say the US Easy mode is actually Normal mode, the US Normal is actually Hard, and US Hard was a previously unseen "very hard". The true Easy mode wasn't included in the game.
In other words, if you own the original PS2 US release, feel free to play on Easy and not feel bad about it. It's the most difficult "easy" mode you'll ever play in your life.
All subsequent US re-releases of the game, including the PS2 special edition, had the difficulty levels to line up 'properly' again. So if you have one of them, that's where you can pick Normal mode and not want to break the controller.
