Would that be legal for a third party to make such a console?

studio that made Project CARS wants you to add another console to your visions of the next-gen: the Mad Box.

It'll be hilarious when no one licenses the games for it and it fails.

They don't have the money to stop the 3 powers from keeping AAA titles off the new console. Legal or not, those companies will do what it takes to protect their market shares.

The 3DO was $700 when it came out in 93.

Yeah, but it dropped to $399-450 in '94 which is when I got mine. I actually have it hooked up to my PVM at the moment, but I rarely ever play it

I wanted one back then because it had the best home port of SSF2 and also a kick-arse version of Road Rash.
What kind of PVM do you have?

The SSF2 game is one of the main games that I wanted for it, and I played it a lot. As for Road Rash, I have since burned a copy of it, but I have put zero time into it.

I believe I have a Sony PVM-20M2U, if I'm remembering correctly. It does not have a ton of hours on it and I got it from the original owner that I know well. Most systems are hooked up via SCART through a switcher, while a few are done S-Video through a switcher as well.
