I want to give this guy some help but I'm not willing to admit how nerdy I am for being of potential use.
If you have an iPad just download Magic 2013 or if you have a 360 buy Duels of the Planeswalkers on XBLA. You can satisfy your curiosity without wasting money on cards.

If your GF is into magic then dump her. If your GF dated a guy who played Magic.....Dump her.
I have some friends who used to play. They would have people over i didnt know who played as well. I used to love talking noise and acting like i knew how to play. Would troll the frick out of em. Id have no idea what i was doing and just put sit down and bullshite my way through a match. Id mostly copy their every move and have them freaking out cuz what ever i was doing wasn't legit. Take that shite to serious and brought me much joy.
" Im going to attack you with this inferno mage flyceratops."
ME: " Oh no you won't, im blocking you with this guy here and hes going to take multiple damage to all your stuff with what ever i roll with these dice."
" HOLD UP MAN!!!!! LET ME READ THAT frickING CARD!!!!!!!!!!"

Im sure 99% of all magic games have someone saying let me see that card at least once.
I dont play magic, but you sound like you might with the amount of butthurt flowing through you. Even a noob like I realize that there are tons of fricking magic cards out there and not many can memorize what they all do.
So I can easily spit shite out of my arse based on different attacks Ive studied in front of me or have seen take place and sound some what credible enough to peak someones interest in the card I am holding. Trololololol it doesnt do that, but its to late ive already wasted 15min of you time before you realize that I dont know what the frick im doing and this is pointless.
