NBA2K Series

Just picked up NBA2K23 on the PS5 for $7.
I haven't played any basketball games on console in years and figured I'd try it out.
Why are the controls so god damn complicated?
Back in the day you had one button to shoot and another for dunks layups, and basic stick action for crossovers, dribbling, etc...
Now you have to pay attention to the ball hand, what foot you're running on, stand on your head and make sure you press 13 buttons at exactly the right time with the correct stick angle to dunk or lay it up.
I know I'm "old" by gamer standards, but god damn, I just wanna turn the PS5 on and play some basketball

I know you can change the controls in the options and if I’m not mistaken there’s a classic option.

I know there are options to adjust the pro stick feature, but I only saw options for Default, Dribble moves only and Shooting only.
I'll have to check again.
I appreciate all of the customization and modes/content they are trying to offer for the game, but there is so much shite

I feel ya though. I haven’t played in a couple years for that same reason. Just felt like so much just to start my franchise. I could care less about majority of the features.

Game is absolute trash. I miss the old NBA Live days.

The series peaked with 2k13, had a second peak in 2k16 and it’s been down hill since. I used to play a a couple games every other night of Play Now Online. It’s an animation mess where they’ve catered more and more to toxic MyPark players.
