It's worth a try. Even with the "new" tutorials built in... it's still not very obvious what to do from time to time.

But, if you like the idea of space travel and a huge playground, you should like it.

My New Laptop died so I sent it back. I ordered one of the MSI GX-740s(can't wait). What are you guys names in game I'll hit you up when I get going at the end of the week. Damn I should have over nighted it from Newegg. I was thinking it would come from the Tenn. WH. :-(

I'm proficient in Basic Turret Control, Basic Active Shield Tanking, and I'm a Basic Field Technician.

I'm unstoppable.

If anyone on here is around the Hadaugago system, let me know!

And I just dropped 200 million buying and fitting a battleship only to find that it sucks compared to my old battlecruiser.

That is one of the biggest rules about EvE: There is a big difference between being able to fly a ship, and able to fly it well.

That was fitting with cruise missiles though...going to try to do torpedo launchers and see if that helps.

What race?

Based off of your certificates, I am guessing either Caldari or Gallente

Minmatar actually. And I thought I was big timing it for collecting 2M so far

Just now, out of nowhere, one of the GM's PM'd me wondering how I'm enjoying the game so far and gave me a few good pointers on how to skill up faster. Really cool that they help out the noobs.

Get ready to be the victim of a lot of jokes about your ships looking like junkyards held together by duct tape.

Even the devs cut jokes about that shite in the blogs that keep players up to date about that they are planned to add.

(The biggest upcoming thing BTW is to release a FPS game in the same world. Console gamers would fight over control of planets in the game universe, basically be mercenaries for the players in the MMO segment, who will pay and supply them to attack/defend their colonies. They have started to implement this....player colonies came out with the last expansion about 2 months ago)

Thats cool that a GM actually talked to you....I guess they are trying to limit attrition from those daunted by the complexity of the game.

I remember when I first started, the amount of effort it took for me to raise enough isk to buy my first cruiser (~4 million).

I now can literally make that in like 5 minutes if I get in a decent anomaly.

I really can't fly in empire, but shoot me an evemail.

Pro tip though: Its a drag now because you really can't do much, but you want to get some decent learning skills done if you plan on playing for a good while. At least train some cybernetics so you can get implants for attribute increases.

Oh sure, skills train fast enough now, but you hit a road block soon enough. For example, If you want to fly a capital ship, or a tech 2 battleship, you need battleship 5....a feat that will take months to complete, and learning skills + implants can shave weeks off of training time.

As a rule of thumb, levels 1-2 are really quick to learn. 3 is meh. Four is respectable (most moderate lvl 4 skills will take 3-8 days to train). And level 5 (perfect skill) is an absolute bitch to get.

Unless you are shooting for something in particular, you will almost never want to train level 5 skills until you have a well fleshed out character and are looking for things to train.
