I didn't realize that dogs went hostile when their owner is attacked.

We found a simple yet crude way of knowing where certain points are in your world in case you get lost. We just stacked like 100 or so sand blocks straight up in the air on top of whatever building, and then just fell off and took the death. Can't miss that tower for anything

I bulit a flaming tower similar to this but I think I need to make it higher. I will just store everything but the nether rack and the flint and go up higher.
And I think our Nether is screwed. I went in and there were 6 gasts (sp?) just waiting on me to come through. One of them hit the portal and I didn't have my flint and could not get back through. I had to get Bruce to come through it just to activate it again so I could get back and get away from constant fire I was taking.

just build it two blocks across and then dig your way down the other side after putting torch on one. Was shocked that you all actually thought as far to make beacons, but not so far as to realize you didnt have to die lol. I just started playing as well. I made no beacons and lost about 3 houses and 20 freaking hours. I just started playing right before the 360 version in anticipation and man am I hooked. I bought it for pc and xbox. One word to the wise. Dont stay too long in mines. Get your shite and get out. I have gotten redstone and obsidium to then just die and lose everything. Damn that sucks. Also if anyone is new like me there is a youtube series called Survive and Thrive it is pretty awesome. There are two seasons, the second is the current game on pc i think or close to it. The first season is more like the 360 version.

Pretty smart. But we unloaded all of our gear first so wasn't too much of a loss. Plus, it was fun for the other guy to see the guy plummet

Im assuming all worlds are different? Im just trying to get a good stronghold right now to protect me while I sleep. Then ima go explore the world. Not sure if thats the smart thing to do.

Kind of the whole point.
Here's a tip. If you build a big enough house, make sure it's well lit. Zombies, Creepers, and those skeleton archers can only spawn in areas where there is no light. It's always a pleasant surprise to come home face to face with a Creeper and have an entire corner of your house blown up.

Only thing that'd make the game better would be to allow several friends to play in the same world without the need for the host to be online. Like a community world that can be joined no matter who's online.

The way I have my place built ive been pretty safe so far. But I gatta find red ember thing for my torch and do they stay lit or burn out?
