I'm thinking of getting my wife one of these for Christmas (the 256gb version) so we can Beat Saber and It Takes Two together when she is working out town.
Thoughts?

Now that they activated air-link, it is a fantastic piece of equipment
You can wirelessly link it to your PC, and play games, watch movies, play rift games, SteamVR, etc

Trying to decide between this and the Valve Index.
Valve Index is more expensive, uses exterior sensors, etc.
I have a pretty beastly PC and I want to get the best experience possible, but I wonder if the price difference is actually worth it right now in VR.

Thanks for the info, I pulled the trigger on this yesterday.

So I got one of these in the Black Friday sale bundle with beat saber and resident evil. Are there any games that are must have? I know the VR among us just came out and looked fun on YouTube. Has anyone tried the WinReality app? I saw it on the World Series commercial and it looked cool. Was wondering what it was like in actuality. I know it’s subscription based.

I have both. Is the Index the superior headset? Yes, not even close.
Is it over twice as good as the Quest 2? No.
Quest 2 - Wireless, no lighthouses, higher resolution
Index - Higher FOV, way better controllers, awesome audio, much more horsepower
Playing games on both, there's a pretty stark difference. On Walking Dead, the Quest has way less zombies, more fog, lower draw distance, etc. But not a deal breaker, still very fun and immersive. Index just gives you extra umph (at a much higher price point)
They're both pretty dated units. If I were you, I would wait for the next Valve headset. All the new headsets are moving to wireless, inside out tracking, foveated rendering, etc.
I'm gonna sell my Index pretty soon and get the new one when it comes out. Also gonna get the PSVR2 which should be an absolute killer unit at that price point.

RE4, Half Life Alyx, Beat Saber, and Walking Dead Saints & Sinners are the must-own VR titles right now. You'll have to link to PC and play Half Life on Steam though

Is it worth the price if I already have the Quest 1? Or should I wait for the PlayStation one or another?

Yeah, I'm not that patient.

I jumped in on the Index and I have no rahgerts. This thing is amazing.
Big sticking point for me was that the Quest got so many points just for being wireless, and that doesn't bother me. Plus, I don't have a FB account anymore and I don't want to get sucked back into that ecosystem. frick Zuck.

I did not need a Facebook account to sign up, just an email. I actually used the same email as my Facebook and set up a separate quest account with it.
