I forgot how important unlocking all the charm / intimidate dialog options is
Flubbed some dialog checks in Noveria. Cool zone though.
Probably won’t replay it, kind of just want to power through. But for anyone planning a replay, don’t ignore charm and intimidate before the mid game main quests
All part of that old school BioWare magic

Also, these old school RPGs had no problem doing brutal things to the characters and NPCs, something that is “somewhat” lacking in newer ones.
In ME1, humans are getting turned into cybernetic zombies, colonists are being turned into mind controlled thralls, a genocide is being purposefully performed on the Krogans through genetic manipulation, etc.
Such fantastic writing in those first 2 games.

Who’d you get killed?

I fricked up the quest where the asari wants me to hack the human businessman, Vargas, in the noveria hotel bar
Vargas sniffed me out and walked away
Also, had to kill everyone after digging around looking for Loriks files.
And finally, Lorik didn’t want to testify against the solarian at the request of the human
Oops
Someone will probably die as a result of all that. Aside from the bitch security guard who confronted me after finding loriks files

That segment is a false choice. Confused the absolute frick out of me the first time I played it. Did it perfectly (I’m a speech check whore in RPGs), and still immediately walked into a full blown firefight. Went straight to the internet to figure out what I had fricked up, only to find out that there’s no avoiding the fricking firefight

I just beat ME1 for the second time last night. One of the few games I have actually beat twice. Love the simplicity of it just hate the amount of junk in my inventory that requires cleaning. Wish there was a way to see weapon/gear stats before looting.
I wound up doing pretty much all the side quest before the main missions. Felt pretty OP doing all the main stuff.
On to ME2 which I have never really played but am excited to play the best in the series.

ME1 wasn’t perfect, but it was really, really special. It kills me that they sacrificed in later games so much of what made the world unique to make it more CoD-esque. Which is a lot of why I tend to white night for it when people start talking about skipping it.
When you first meet Sovreign in the first one is an all time moment in video games.
That conversation is incredible.

The inventory does suck. I just mass sell everything that is a tier lower that what I’m finding to the requisition office on the Normandy.
Playing in veteran and it’s too easy anyways so no need to min max all that. Although it can be fun
Not interested in an Insanity run, might bump the difficulty up in me2 though.

Completely agree. Doesn’t have the same impact on subsequent playthroughs because of how much the curtain gets pulled back in later games, but that first time? I agree, an absolutely classic gaming moment.

It absolutely does. With that said, once you internalize that you’re going to be drowning in money by the end of the game, it’s less of an issue to just say “frick it, you’re Omni gel now” when your inventory gets full
