Tales of adventure III launched with Endwalker. Before it came out ToA II only got you to 70.
Edit: the entire point of it is to catch people up that want to play the expansion. Not to get to max level.

I was talking about FF specifically. I don’t play WoW. FF is proof it can exist and work. None of what you are complaining about changes FF.

I'm not arguing with you about the reasoning or predatory nature of it.
I was just correcting you on what you said. You cannot get to max level or max story point. It is always to the latest expansions start.

I created a new toon so that I could go back and play the story that I skipped. I did not buy a story skip. I bought a lvl boost to 70 which was 10 less than the max at the time.
Why did I buy the lvl boost? Well because I wanted to play through the story as quick as possible. So I could solo Que dungeons that I have run hundreds of times and the get back on my main to play endwalker. It was my fault for skipping story.
Square gave me the ability to make my process quicker and I’m thankful for it. I’m the dumbass that skipped cutscenes on my main. They are the smart asses that profited from it.

Well I asked you originally why you didn’t like the story skip and boost in Final Fantasy.
I cant vouch for what Lost ark does and doesn’t offer.
My point was that you can have both in games and it be okay. Using FF as that example and model for other MMO’s.
But again more than anything it’s the monthly sub that allows the game to thrive. It’s more than that obviously but to avoid the problems F2P have a month sub is vital.
