Looking to purchase a PS5-Feedback?

Been having a PS4 pretty much since they came out but mine is starting malfunction frequently so I'm looking to now buy a PS5. I don't do any online gaming, no real reason other than just never got into it and I don't spend much time so I'm not really a "gamer" and basically stick to Madden, MLB, UFC, now NCAA, and COD.
I assume the basic version is enough for me?
I have good WIFI at home so I am looking into the digital to just download games as I want to purchase them, any issues people frequently run into with this or this pretty standard now days?
Thanks in advance.

What kind of tv do you have?

The only issue you might have is that you might run out of storage if you just download games and keep them installed when you stop playing them. If you're the type that wants to have 20 games installed at all times because you constantly switch which game you're playing, you'll want to ensure you have enough storage to keep them all installed at the same time so that you're not always deleting and downloading games. Luckily, it's super easy to install an internal SSD in the PS5 and you can install one that's up to 8TB.

Typically I just have the games I mentioned, maybe 5-8 games max. With Madden / NCAA / UFC / MLB I would delete them as I install the newer version. I would think that'll be enough to keep me with some storage space?

I'll look into this as well. I haven't messed with memory cards of any kind since in a couple of consoles ago, but also had never had strictly a digital version.

It probably will be. The PS5 has 825GB of storage space and those games aren’t very large (aside from COD).
A 1TB SSD is less than $100 these days, so if you find yourself running out of space, it’s relatively cheap to buy one and it takes less than 10 min to install (even for someone with no clue what they’re doing).

You definitely do not need the pro version. Get a standard slim model if you can and don’t want the disk drive. They have various special editions and colors of the slim digital edition you can shop around for and find one you like plus they make detachable plates for that model for just about any and everything/color scheme you can think of. If you end up deciding you want a disk drive later you can buy one a la cart they’re 80$.
The only issue with that model as the other poster says is the storage is comically small. You’ll almost certainly want to just purchase an extra 1TB SSD it’s not that expensive and with as few games as you say you play you’ll never have to worry about it again even if you decide to add 5-6 big ones or maybe 10 more reasonable ones.
Also just go ahead and buy a second controller. You’ll inevitably have to eventually. The DualShock 5 is a really really great controller for using but it’s durability is fricking awful. If you want to delay needing a new one clean out the crevices around it and especially around the joysticks with a wet q tip every now and then
The pro isn’t marketed properly imo. It’s really only for people who have the external tech like tvs and shite who also plan to play the games specifically enhanced for the machine.
These are the plates I use

The basic version is fine for anyone who isn't a tech geek who wants to run every game on the maximum framerate possible with all the graphical bells and whistles to the max. I'd argue we're reaching the point where many of those graphical perks are barely even noticeable to most people anyway.
As for the disk drive, the good news it's now modular so if you decide to get the digital version and change your mind later you can add the disk drive. Basically the digital and the disk version are now same machine and the drive version just comes with the optional disk drive already attached for you.
It's worth noting the PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4, so if you owned a bunch of old PS4 games on disk and wanted to play them on the PS5 that would be one reason to get a disk drive. If your PS4 library is already all digital then it wouldn't matter.

Depends on the game. FF7 Rebirth on PS5 Pro is way better than on regular PS5.

Do like me, get a ps5 and series x to put on both sides of your neo geo aes.
Be sure and tell PC gamers about your setup and laugh and say "I don't give a shite" when they critique

Yep same with Blobs 6 and likely many games going forward.
Just got mine and I’ve been playing it a lot more than my old PS4, has been nice going back to releases I didn’t finish and playing them like they were supposed to be.
