So my thoughts are just expand Ultimate on the Switch 2 (sell it for $150 starting) and add the following:

I think they are done. If they do something else it will be like Mario Kart 8 and they will release a deluxe edition on the Switch 2 whenever it comes out.

It definitely needs to be an expanded Ultimate instead of a new game. They'll never get a lineup like that again.

I'm betting they add Waluigi if Sakurai isn't involved anymore, but if he is involved it definitely won't happen.

Sakurai recently said he's open to working on another one. LINK

Regardless, they are definitely not done milking this cash cow. The only question is if the next one will be awesome, or if it will suck.

Octoling is just a Mii Gunner costume right now. But there are enough weapons in Splatoon that have not been utilized yet to easily create another character.
