L.A Noire (PS3) Characters mouths won’t move and they stare at each other.

And I’ve read the journal on the first mission, which is supposed to end it and nothing happens. I just walk around and when I leave it says I failed because I didn’t bring the suspect with me.
This does not line up at all with what I’ve been seeing on YouTube walkthroughs.
See where one guy had the same problem: LINK
Gameplay is normal, but when I interact with my partner, our mouths don’t move, there’s no audible volume and we just stare at each other. I had to turn subtitles on to even know they were talking. The guy in the link also says he can’t leave the first mission just like me.

Just use a gamefaq walkthrough or completely frick it all up and still get your man like the rest of us. You’re a detective bro.

I don’t think you understand. This is a defect in the game itself. Imagine playing GTA 5 and Trevor and Michael are supposed to be talking to each other and instead they stare at each other in silence and no words come out and their mouths don’t move. Imagine trying to finish a mission and the mission doesn’t complete when you do everything you’re supposed to and you’re stuck in the mission.

Physical disk copy or digital download? You could try a fresh install of the game.

Digital. I have a modded PS3 with over 200 games on an external drive. The link I provided above shows someone with the same problem. Someone in the comments said something about verifying the cache on the game file to correct it.

i used to own the disc copy on ps3 and never had a problem with the game…
