well done. both can be annoying
ds3 is better from a technical standpoint than ds1 but ds1 is the OG so it will always remain atop my list.

nothing will ever top that first run through DS1. discovering the world and its interconnectivity evoked a sense of wonder that few games can match (and they managed to capture it again with Bloodborne)
I miss our old DS1 and Witcher 2 threads from back in the day. We had a good group in there with tons of good discussion

Yes. One I got off the guys with the big hats and black robes in a previous board.

heck yeah. witcher 2 was awesome.
cant decide between demon souls or daughter of ash mod after my ds3 replay. thinking daughter of ash. read a little bit about it and it looks great.
whats rough about these games is if you want to do a crazy fun build in NG, using sorcery or pyro or miracles or some wild weapon, you have to do some out of the way shite to get the correct items and spells.
Like if i wanted to do a "Dark sorcery" build and get the best staff, i have to go wayyy deep in the demon ruins in ds3. and then hit some illusory walls etc. finding these things without a guide is a challenge.
whereas with melee, you just pick up a 2h and start swinging. very little planning.

Sorcery spells require a staff
Pyro spells require a pyro glove
Miracles require a talisman

do DoA. Demons Souls remake is coming for PS5, just wait on that.
DoA is hard af man. I'm still early, but the routes are totally different, there are no good weapons to start, and there are no 100% damage reduction shields

Also, make sure you log in before installing the mod and change your network settings to where you dont automatically log in. Gotta play 100% offline or you get banned

I finished the Forest of the Giants last night. Man, DS2 is not very good. I don't think I can finish a playthrough. Back to DS3 SL1 run...

I'm kind of just playing it out of respect, if that makes sense. I'm having fun, and I'm starting to see how the world is all connected, but just in terms of gameplay, 3 is definitely my favorite out of the two.

Aldritch is such a pain at first , then everything clicks and he goes down pretty quickly.
onwards to Ithiryll Dungeon

The first is so well regarded because it was most people's first foray into the series. I love it, but there is no doubt 3 is king of Dark Souls.

I had a few bad moments with the jailers but they weren't the worst I faced in that game. Getting cursed by those damn toads grated me a lot more.

you'll be seeing those again fairly soon btw

Toads? I already ran across the frog/manta ray hybrid. That tongue tickles.

Received the Magic Weapon in the swamp. Attuned it. Then it’s the third equipped spell in my top rolodex. Still can’t cast the spell. I’m using the frozen sword I got off the night by the elevator on the last boss.
No idea how to use spells and it’s pissing me off now that I have 20 into intelligence.
Thinking about using a pale tongue and starting over with something else

It’s been years since I’ve played but I think that’s your problem. Either that or you need more attunement

So, I should just equip a regular weapon?
Thanks
Thanks

You have to put a sorcerers staff in the spot where your shield is.
The frozen sword might not be buffable though . Not all weapons are.
