I struggled for a while with Aldrich, but then got the Dancer on my 5th attempt. It could also do with what you're proficient at. I do pretty well dodging most physical attacks, but projectiles still give me fits.

yeah playstyles are the biggest factor overall.

Just got to Champion Gundyr. I almost had him on my first attempt last night.

I kind of wish I hadn't summoned for the second attempt, but I was tired and just wanted to get through it. He's so aggressive, finding those windows to pop estus is such a challenge.

If you know how to parry decently he's pretty easy to parry on his poke attack.
If anyone ever wants to do PVP outside of Pontiff on PC I put my game's network password as TD.COM so you'll just have to do the same and then either of us can put down a summon sign.

Just got past Vordt, raised the banner, flew with the crazies and into another board finally!

When you get down to the area where the dogs are attacking the "zombies", make sure to go to the end of the bridge and find one of those travelers that are still alive. He'll pledge himself to you and head to Firelink.

Beat soul of cinder and the ancient wyvern. Can I go back and fight the nameless king now?
Nevermind I see that you can. I'm gonna get the nameless king and move on to the dlc. I also just bought bloodborne, so I'm itching to jump into that.

Found him! Also, picked up a soul arrow spell and attuned it. I’m loving being the sneak just going around cheesing these bigger/ badder characters.
I guess I’ll keep using NPC’s for help with the bosses.

Ok. I didn’t exactly go to Firelink immediately after he pledged himself. What’s going on at Firelink?

All NPCs you find return to firelink and you can begin their quest chain there

Ok. That sounds pretty cool. I’ve just been going to the chick that levels me up, the big dude that upgrades the Japanese sword, and the old lady that sells me arrows.
Where are the NPC’s at?
ETA I have vigor at 21, Dex at 16 and just started intelligence. Hoping to start getting some more spells and stuff for the assassin build.
Following this guy’s cheeseburger build:

Each one has their own spot at the shrine. You'll see little sections with some candles set up, that's a spot for an NPC if you find them.
That guy, when you walk into the shrine, is in a back cave on the bottom floor to the right.

They are located in the hallways on the perimeter. You will find em. You'll spend a lot of time in firelink

This game is getting really cool. I was trying to sneak up to the guy with the saw and cage to backstab but it said examine so I hit x and it brought me to a cave with some dude in it. Had to google how to get out of there and killed a fluorescent pink guy. It said evil power killed.
Anybody know what that means?
Brought that Japanese sword up to +3.
Definitely has a Skyrim feel to it but much darker.

Did you get invaded?

No idea. How do I find out?

when you use an ember, there are certain areas in the game where you can be invaded by NPCs or other players. The one you faced sounds like Hodrick.
there are other NPCs that will invade you in other stages, each with a little lore or unique items if you beat them.
might be tough to tell the difference between a player invader or an NPC, but if youre getting pounded by xxClownPenisxx, its probably not an npc.
