As someone who has one, don't get one.

When you get a gaming laptop, it ceases to be mobile. If you try to bring it somewhere and play games, prepare to be tethered to a power outlet because the battery won't last long. Spec-wise, you can get a powerful laptop, but at that price you'd be better off with a desktop.

Even a suped up one. Get a desktop, or get a console.

Laptops suck for gaming mostly because its damn near impossible to change the video card as opposed to a desktop. If youre investing in a gaming machine just get a nice desktop

I have the asus g74h gaming laptop, runs you about 1400.. plays every game out on high settings. I'll never go back to a bulky desktop. And their are better laptops out than mine. No reason to get a desktop these days, laptops perform just as good or better except with a laptop you get mobility.

You can realistically hope for a desktop to be top of the line for about that long if you don't touch it. If you don't have a problem adding memory or swapping video cards, their gaming life can be extended considerably. Maybe 7 or 8 years if you keep up with it.

Just remember that you don't do anything on your computer that taxes the system resources like gaming. Well, unless you do what I do.

Yeah. That's a problem. My laptop's got a duo, and it's about to be three years old.

This is a price range type of question. Everybody's distributing Foxconn products in their machines, so it's more a question of who gives you the most bang for your buck.
