Is there anyway to decrease your ping? Or do you have to just live with what you get?

Good question. Anyone know the answer? SG Geaux mentioned hard wiring from modem directly to xbox but this would be a pain in the arse with my setup.

My modem only has one Ethernet connection. I use my wireless router as a switch and have my ps3 hard wired from the wireless router. This is just adding an extra layer that slows everything down. I need to call Bellsouth and inquire about a home network modem...

i have cox and it blows. Im thinking bout switching.




at night im usually at 1.8 and.98 and cannot play any fricking games.

no it ranges from 43-90. My internet connection drops a lot also. It took me 46 minutes to dl 39mb. WTF?

only problem is im not playing cod cus im watching hockey then i got to go to class and later tonight i wont be able to do shite. I know it is not my modem or my router it is my ISP.

i would bet its the router more than anything... they may tell you it is ok but i would request a new one if you got it from them... it may not help the speeds but it may stop the drops

I think my problems are ISP related. It's fine during the day but at night shite starts lagging on me. I'm going to run a speed test tonight and again on a Saturday afternoon to check the difference.

Sounds like someone on your node is doing some heavy torrent downloads or something.
