If you preorder a game, can you get it at midnight?

Ive never pre ordered a game. For madden, is it easiest to pre order and go pick it up at Best Buy the morning it comes out, or digital? What time does the digital copy allow you to download the game?
TIA

If you get EA Access you can play it like 3 days earlier.

Lots of digital pre-orders allow you to pre-download a few days in advance so it's ready to go when it releases, and typically it's 11:00 the night before if you're in CDT. Some pre-order specials allow you to play a few days early.
