How you use Shep?? (and other observations)

For those that have started a dynasty with LSU, how are you using Shep? I'm not starting a dynasty till I get all names for every team. So I was just wondering how people are using him. I've only played 1/2 of a game, so I didn't get a chance to play much yet. I was thinking that I was going to redshirt him and save a year, unless he was so dynamic that I should play him this year. Opinions from those that have used him and JJ a lot so far??
Also, in the 1/2 of a game that I did play I found it super hard to get any offense going. The game was tied 7-7 at halftime (against Nebraska) and my td came from a INT return from Hawkins. I'm guessing that it's just going to take a little getting used to with the offense. I seemed to get a pretty good handle on the defense pretty quick. I couldn't run the ball and I wasn't too great on my passes either on offense.
Finally, what's the word on someone having all the names placed on the rosters? Getting close??

I put shep in and run option sometimes or rollout plays i use him too

I play on Heisman and I use him in the pistol or shotgun when I run the speed option.
I've also used him a couple times to roll out and run for the first with the base Ace formation. One time I broke it for a 55 yard td and the other time a 15 yard gain before the safety leveled him.
All said, he is the shiftiest player on the roster from what I've found. No one cuts like him in open space, not even Holiday. I also find he throws better on the run than JJ.

I always use him in the pistol formation and run the option with him. Or just any shotgun formation where it's a choice to keep it or handoff to the rb. Mostly just options. Also hit them with the fake option pass with him so the safetys will bite on it.
This year I can't seem to break any punt and kick returns for touchdowns as well. And it seems like I never have time to sit in the pocket to pass, yet the cpu qb sits back and has all day to throw as I get no pressure on him.
I like the game a lot though just ready to get a roster that's correct with all the names. It seems on just about every other play I see a new animation that makes me want to do a replay and view it. The stadiums look amazing as does the all purple crowd. Just wish they would have done something with that crappy defense cheer.

I love using him. It opens up the pass game with Tollivar. In one game Tollivar did not drop a pass, he had like 10 receptions with 160+ yards.

well i like JJ as the current qb now so i redshirted him so i he wouldn't lose a year just in spot performances. about to hit my 2nd yr though so i'll let you know.

Is there an easy way to switch between QBs during a drive instead of going to depth chart and changing it? Can you set certain plays to use Shep in lieu of JJ every time??

Yes. When you are selecting your playfrom the playcalling screen, move the right stick left or right. this will change your package with the current formation. set it to backup qb to use shep. its quick and easy. also use spell hb package if you want to sub in keiland for scott.

I have discovered that oregons playbook is money with lsu. lots of good downhills for scott and options for shep

I change the package on pistol to backup qb. Mostly use him to hand the ball off up the middle to the chuck and the option around the end. Ocasionally throw in some passes for kicks. I think through 10 games ha has about 40 passes. and like 700 rushing yards (AA)

I've used him sparingly like others. Put him in basically for QB runs and then to set up the QB PA, which is the shite btw. JJ is good though, so I think I'll prob red shirt Shep when I start a dynasty.

Geeze, some of you are on your second season or have played 10 games. I've played one game and had to quit the second because of other things to do.

So if I want to sub shep In all I have to do during play calling is move right stick left or right and have him set as my back up QB?

I usually forget he's there, lol.
I haven't played too many online games with LSU, but when I do, I try to use him like we used RP when we had Flynn.
About 6-8 plays, mostly options with a pass or 2 mixed in.

I mainly play online and I use him to set up the option pass. I will run some handoffs to scott with him, maybe throw once, pass and then run an option or two. Some point on that drive or the next drive I use him and throw the option pass, its money.
