I've played a good bit of it on Steam. I love Metroidvania's, and this one is good, but it hasn't blown me away. Maybe the reviews had my expectations too high. I like it, but I don't love it. I might enjoy it more, though, on the Switch since it seems like a good game to pick up and play for quick sessions on the go.

I like it, but it's been hard to devote time to it. No hand holding though, so it's both challenging from a gameplay perspective, and quite open. A little frustrating with no suggestions on where to go, so a lot of trial and error to progress in the world, because it literally tells you nothing. So you may make your way all the way across the map, and find a spot you can't pass due to not having the correct skill/spell, then you most likely have no way to get back without walking all the way back to where you know you can go.

Fun, if you like that sort of lost feeling.

I put 80 hours into it and it’s probably up there with my all time favorite Metroidvanias. The game is CRAZY HARD if you’re not careful and pace yourself. They release free DLC and are coming up on the last pack.

Also, I gotta mention, Nightmare King Grimm is probably the hardest boss you’ll fight in your life.

This part is a plus for me and what I enjoy about Metroidvania's. I like getting lost in an interesting environment and being forced to learn it and how it connects to other areas. My issue is that I don't think most of the environments are that interesting.

Well, there are the fast travel railways, so that's not always true and becomes less true as you unlock more. Also, one of my first purchases from the map shop was every type of map marker so I could flag interesting areas as I found them. I had my own little system for what each marker and color meant. This reduced unnessary backtracking.

it's not currently in development, but they said it's a possibility. id imagine that they'd do it if they did well with the Switch version
