Absolutely. In competitive play, give me my BR. I really enjoy Slayer, too. I'm fine with an SMG start, if I can get my hands on a PAR.

Oh it certainly created more action and I enjoyed it but if one team got control of the power weapons you were toast because you didn't spawn with a gun that could take down those weapons. Hell I actually loved playing those games because if you played with a group that knew what they were doing you could get the pin on a team and beat them 50-12. The BR start just balanced the game where weapon control wasn't the main factor in winning a game. I wish H2 would have kept the stunning action plasma weapons had in H1. That also helped balance close range situations in H1.

yeah exactly. so when that happened you had to be more tactical. distract the sniper someone else take him out snipe the rocket guy boom back in power. Man i loved shite like that.
I dont mind having a BR game mode. Id play it sometimes. but I love the original set

You def had to more tactical in those situations but if the team that had control knew what they were doing you had zero chance. I guess I just enjoyed the more competitive aspect of H2. Which team has the best gameplan and most skilled shooters. Running around with an SMG spraying that thing and chunking grenades was a blast. I just preferred knowing if I were a skilled enough shooter at spawn I could shoot myself out of any situation if I make my shots count.
That's what makes H2 so great. 2 people who love the game for 2 completely reasons. To each their own.

Yeah. I mean I guess we just havent different opinions. There is a part of me that agrees with you though

my H2 disc was left at a buddies house back from Xmas or something when we system linked. makes me sad that I cant play it.
I guess I might actually play the main game in halo this time around. I beat h1 and I think I beat H2 but not sure. pretty positive I never even started H3 or H4 compaign

A fricking fantastic custom on h2 when having a lan is Zanzibar one flag but change the settings to first to 3 flags and turn on vehicular operation. Flag damage turned up to one melee kill and not slow with flag. Also no radar. Games last about 30 minutes to an hour and it's fun as hell. You need at least 5v5 to play it though. We usually have 6v6 or 7v7.

I really hope we have a solid group here that we can get some fun custom games going a lot. Obviously play regular matches together too but we could have some fun custom matches

For sure. I already have 5 or 6 good friends that I used to play with back in the Halo 2 & 3 days that I know are itching to get back into some of those custom games we used to play.

One of them just got married last month, so his playing time will be limited. The rest of them except two are back in Memphis not really doing much so we should be good.
