If you like point-and-click games, I hear it's one of the best. Before I got into PC gaming, so I don't know personally. A friend of mine raves about it.

I still have my original CD's for this. It's a good game and I'm excited about this remake, especially the developer commentary, but I don't know how well it will hold up by today's standards. At the time, the art direction and story were really unique but the way it controlled was a little clunky, imo, especially compared to true point and click adventure games of the same time period like Monkey Island 3, for example.
I say this because Grim Fandango wasn't a true "point and click" adventure game. You controlled Manny, the protagonist, with the arrow keys to navigate the environments and you had to cycle through inventory items one by one. I know this will probably map just fine to modern gamepads but I am a little concerned this is one of those games that may have so great of a reputation preceding it that it won't be able to live up to those who didn't play it originally.

Yeah, this game's shite controls probably added hours of frustration to the gameplay. Even when you think you're used to it, the game throws you a new fricked up camera angle.
If the remaster still controls the same way, you will have a new generation of players complaining about this.
Doesn't help that the story is a bit of a slow burn, and so for the first couple of hours, the clunkiness is the most apparent feature.

I replayed it about two years ago and still loved it. The controls were really bad, but it didn't bother me since it just gave me a little extra time to take in the universe. Fallout, Final Fantasy, and Mass Effect are the only games that have played that had as immersive worlds as GF. I had no idea that they were remaking this thing, so this is exciting news.
