Sounds like you want an Xbox to be the parent for you. You sure you were ready for kids? This is the age where every activity should be about soaking up knowledge, not just entertainment.

Teach him what sex is when you hook up with a hooker in Fable 2.

ETA: I'm sure he'd love Amnesia. Maybe a little bit of Slender.

Sounds like your still an idiot that still doesnt get it... I dont know of many dads that spend as much time with their son as I do. I'm taking him to the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Sedonna, London Bridge and the Getty this summer. Kid is probably already smarter than you.

This is simply an added 10-30min activity. We use a timer.

I know(I told myself that at the beginning)... I just dont get anyone whose need for attention is so great that they must interupt a thread for nonsense. I know they exist all over the rant, just wasnt aware it was here as well. Gotta love random parenting advice from clueless folks. I think I'll stick to what I learned from my parents and through a relationship with the Creator rather than some hack needing attention.

This happens all the time. Someone who generally doesn't post here decides they actually want to be a responsible parent and NOT let their kids play just anything, and so they come here for some advice, and somebody has to use the tired "why don't you raise your kids instead of letting the xbox/ps3/wii do it" act. If you spend any time here, you'll notice a trend with certain posters and learn to brush them off.

I like you already. And I'm guessing from your name that we're the same age. Stay strong, old gamer man

Much appreciated... We have some of those same posters on the recruiting board, that I frequent, and most came from the Rant. I dont hide who I am, its on my profile. I'm definitley an older gamer. I use to write Walkthroughs for Cheat Code Central and others back in the day (original Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, 007, etc) and a part timer in the early EA gaming circuit in the late 90's.
So, its pretty cool to see my son get into it. I'm also part of a group looking to use certain game aspects to further reading and pattern recognition processing in adolescents, yes , believe it or not they can have a very positive impact in education
