Game idea I just had… probably already exist

Imagine a game like Rust with monthly server wipes. But say there are 10 different continents or planets. It takes a week to research the ability to go to different continents or planets. But the travel time between is 2-3 hours or so.
Ideally each continent or planet would have some type of leadership structure and try to take over other continents or planets. You would need planning and supply lines to deal with the travel time.
After travel there would be a 15-30 minute announcement before they reached land or viewing of incoming travel to plan so attacks wouldn’t be complete surprise.
Would be interesting to play and or follow a monthly world war across the planet or galaxy. Interesting to see what type of leadership structures are created and how they interact.
How bad of an idea is this or does it already exist?

Ideally you wouldn’t sit at a screen for 2-3 hours, you could do things, just people/supplies would have a travel delay.

Add a currency that people can buy to speed up research/travel and you have yourself a mobile game.
