For the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been noticing a lot of bullet blanking when I play Fortnite Battle Royale and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. What I mean by bullet blanking is that you target an opponent and shoot at him, seemingly hitting him, but no damage is being registered to that opponent. Examples of this I've experienced this week are:

1) There's an opponent, likely a kid, just standing still with his back to me shooting his gun in the air at absolutely nothing. I'm at mid range distance from him, target him with my assault rifle, my cross hairs turn red indicating I'm on target, and I start firing, emptying an entire clip on him, but I'm not registering any hits or damage to him. The whole time I'm firing my cross hairs are red. I then reload another clip, target him exactly the same way as he still hasn't moved, the cross hairs turn red, start firing and this time he registers damage and is killed. I literally did nothing different both times I shot at him other than change the clip.

2) I run around the corner of a house and get ambushed and blind sided by an opponent with a shotgun. He fires off 2 or 3 shotgun shots at me at point blank range and I get zero damage from those shots. There's no way he missed me with his shots but no damage was registered to me. I fire my shotgun at him at point blank range and he gets no damage. I then switch to my sub-machine gun target, shoot, and kill him. This time the bullet blanking ended up working out in my favor.

I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this. I've never had this issue before. I looked online and did see where people were complaining about this back in the fall. I also saw a video posted this past April by a gamer named Tfue where he actually captured exactly what I'm talking about on video. I don't know if it has something to do with the new event/update coming next week or what. I'm on Xbox One btw.

I know what you're talking about but I have no idea how to check that. You can see that in the game?

Bullet blanks are more than likely a ping/lag issue. It’s nothing more than delay from the client.

It happens all the time in Fortnite. Have you ever notice blank shotgun shots on a downed opponent that you’re trying to finish? It’s just a client delay.

There’s a setting to turn on Latency stats, and it will display in the top corners of your screen

Cool, thanks Bonkers. Yeah there've been times when I've had to finish off opponents with a few shots from my shotgun, even had to reload a clip or two to do it.
