turns out it might've been my credit card. shortly afterwards, i get a fraud alert text message. fricking BBVA.

Bless Chase. They have never fricked with me. Doesn’t matter what I buy or where in the world I travel.
The closest they ever came was when I bought multiple Surface Pros at multiple BestBuy locations across multiple days (skirting their bullshite Black Friday product limits). Tens of thousands of dollars in the most absurdly fraudulent looking way imaginable.
They started out with fraud alert emails, then text messages, culminating in a very nice woman calling me at like 10pm with genuine concern in her voice
Never shut me down, though

finally got selected from a evga queue again. it was a 3060, but i can probably/easily flip that to someone facebook. if it was a mineable card, it might be worth keeping.
unless someone here wants to trade it for a 6700xt?

How much would you sell it for?
Posted on 9/9/21 at 9:24 pm to RATeamWannabe
Did you buy the other one already?

It’s $399 MSRP.
For a GB member, I’d let it go for cost + shipping.
I paid $430.63. I’m sure shipping will be around $30 for $500 insurance.

You can always exchange it.

Posted on 9/9/21 at 9:42 pm to finchmeister08
I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle

The 3070ti isn’t on that chart, how much of an upgrade is it?
I don’t have internet, so I may as well send it back if it’s a step up
ETA
Only one link, but says the ti doesn’t give you a significant step up and can run hot.
I mean, 10% performance increase isn’t anything to laugh at, but i think I’ll be fine with the 3070

There’s a threshold somewhere where the 30 series cards, are use GDDR6x (hot) memory instead of regular GDDR6 (cool). I thought it started at the 3080. Not sure about the 3070Ti.
The FE cards had to have extra thermal pads installed to transfer some of the heat to the backplate they got so hot.

Eta: I appear to be wrong, and the 3070ti uses x. Which is really stupid…

You'll be amazed by the performance jump.
Now you just need a 1440p 144hz monitor to throw at it

The 3070ti will give you a bit better performance than a 3070. A 3070 is a better value from a cost-per-frame basis. In a normal world, the 3070ti wouldn't really have a place, because I think either a 3070 or a 3080 would be more appropriate for any usage case, but we don't live in a normal world, so you kinda just have to make a call

there are 2 other differences from the 3070 to 3070 Ti build.
the 3070 Ti also comes with Crysis Remastered Trilogy and Humankind (whatever that is) and the CPU is different (Intel i7 10700K vs Ryzen 7 5800X). there may not be much of a difference there, but i think the intel CPU is a previous gen CPU. Blue can probably confirm that.
here's some GN benchmarks in 1440p with the intel processor you'd be getting if you exchanged...
also, you got 18 hours to make a decision before the sale ends LINK
