AMD QUEUE IS UP BOISSSS!!!!!
Posted on 8/12/21 at 8:52 am to finchmeister08
AMD Direct Store
This place is just as bad as Zotac. I wouldn't even try, but the prices literally can't be beat for Reference Radeon cards (unless you're buying from Best Buy).
https://www.amd.com/en/direct-buy/us
No more need for scripts for AMD's site. They've implemented a random queue system. With it being random, you place in line can vary regardless of when you arrive. You'll have about 10 minutes before the queue is formed so follow these steps.
1 - Download Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
2 - Open the queue in a normal tab.
3 - Open the queue in a private tab.
4 - Do this for all of your web browsers, including your cell phone.
5 - Wait for timer to expire and set the queue.
6 - Pray that one of your tabs gets you in in time.
Maybe there will be a browser extension to come out soon to create multiple queue tokens. One can hope, anyway.

Any API indications from BestBuy concerning which cards will drop, or is that always just a "see what drops when it drops" kind of thing?

this queue system is arse

Not that it seems like anyone here is interested, but while you're waiting for a dGPU the new Ryzen iGPUs are not bad at all and there appears to be ample stock. If you want to get going now, not the worst ideas to drop the $260 now on a 5600G. You can like resell it in a month or two when you get your dGPU for 80% of that being lightly used.

So… presumably no BestBuy drop today?

Bad luck streak continues, was at home til about 1pm anticipating a drop before leaving to a customer site where I barely get service
Drops at 2:45
No FE again from the looks of it too

Yep, was about to say, looks like it just dropped, but no FE cards. C'est la vie

Posted on 8/12/21 at 2:53 pm to bamabenny
Actually, after looking again, it looks like no 3080 at all, only 3080ti.

Bleh. Didn't get to test out the browser extensions today. Literally stopped watching around 2ish but was only looking for FE cards, which sounds like they didn't release... Again.

I just bought some custom sleeved cables from Ensourced to salve my annoyance

Rumor is another in store BB event on 8/26
Posted on 8/16/21 at 8:56 am to bamabenny
yup, i read that somewhere in the fixit discord. someone mentioned. i wish they'd use different stores instead of the same ones everytime.

Secondary market has been kinda dying on local FB, might be a good opportunity for people to actually get cards. Scalpers might not want to waste their time. If one of mine gets cards I’ll stop by at 8am and grab whatever they have left

so... i just got off the phone with the muffin man (Mtech guy)...
he gave me some info on EVGA cards. 3060Ti (2-fan) will more than likely be non-LHR. the 3-fan will definitely be LHR. when ordering, you have to specify non-LHR while ordering the 2-fan model.
he's still committed to the 3-5 week lead time to receiving customers orders on all cards including FE cards.
just ordered 4 3060Ti FEs

I have no idea how he’s gonna pull this off, he has to have 1500+ cards on back order from fixit alone. Would fap if I get that 3080FE @MSRP though.
Could be one huge con, but nerds hunting GPUs would not be the target victim I’d go for
