Been playing F1 since 19. Played 19-20 on controller, got a G29 about a year ago. The whole entire experience is 1000x better on wheel. And my pace is drastically better.
Good stuff

My Logic G923 racing wheel should arrive tomorrow, and the racing stand on Wednesday. I'm pretty excited.

Just gotta decide on a seat that connects to the stand or if I just want to buy a regular office(gaming) chair to double up for when I race as well as the nice, comfy office chair I use to work from home.

I’ve got the G920 and love it. Now I just play NASCAR Heat 5 and mostly just turn left, but I can’t imagine not having a wheel now. I tried playing Forza on it and it’s hard af. I just tightened mine to my desk and have an office chair.

Nice

I play on Xbox but on a TV, so I did order the racing stand. I didn't order the seat but did order a stand that can have a seat added just in case me and/or my kid are really into it we can add it on later.

Good news, racking wheel came in today. Bad news, I ordered the correct one on the Gamestop site for the Xbox but they sent me the G923 for Playstation. Ughhhh.

Now the wheel and stand should both be in tomorrow. I guess I'll just play on my couch for now but I do need to order a nice office chair that can double up as my gaming chair and a chair for work since I work from home.

Also, pretty funny with Madden/2k/fifa,we play the exact same games lol.

Finally got the wheel and was able to try it out for a couple of hours last night

1st hour or so was a pretty big learning curve, then I got the general hang of it.

After trying it for a few laps on 3 or 4 different tracks, I'm about as good or within 1 second of my best lap with controller but definitely make more mistakes as I'm getting used to it.

The fast curves were almost immediately a huge improvement, so much easier to navigate than with a controller.

Reviews of F1 22 starting to come out. As always, reviewing good averaging about 8/10

Most cons are for stuff that I dont care about: you can only drive supercars in time trials and how My Life is really just an updated menu. For being advertised as big additions this year, they are apparently pretty thin

The things that matter: On track, the F1 and F2 racing is still top notch and race day presentation cant be beat. Car customization and tweaks are still great as well (with more options & decisions to be made) making both My Team and Career mode very good.

Most reviewers are saying the on track racing is becoming stale though if you buy this game annually.

Conflicting opinions on the AI. Some say AI just race in a straight line, arent aggressive enough and that faster cars will pass you in the DRS zones but you can easily regain position at the next corner (basically the same as previous years). Other reviews say the AI improved and will drive defensively by trying to cut you off at corners or box you in while you're trying to pass. Also conflicting reports on AI mistakes - some reviewers are saying AI dont make many mistakes while others have seen multiple cars have spin outs/wrecks in their races.

One concerning thing with the PC version: I've read 5-6 reviews and only one review mention this, so we'll see, but that one review stated the PC version has stability issues and crashes a lot. Sometimes mid race. Not sure if this is a thing or not since I dont see it reported anywhere else

My kids will love it, I'll never use that so it's whatever.

That's good stuff, I'm going to dive it into it a bit today.

Well shite, I guess we'll find out which it is over the coming weeks lol.

Man I don't know who was saying this.

The AI drivers are way more aggressive, feels much more fun on 2022.

Struggling with my AI Difficulty setting for each track but I'll figure it out eventually.

Definitely seeing more mistakes and AI spin outs and collisions with each other due to the added aggressiveness.

Anyone on here use the rewind function to undo a big mistake?

I try to limit myself to only using it in the first lap when all hell breaks loose at the start….it might be cheating but whatever

I don't use flashbacks but I do have the issue of smashing other cars from behind on the 1st turn of the race.

Generally if I hit someone and mess my shite up on that 1st turn, I just restart the race. But after turn 1, no restarts or flashbacks.

I'm 5 races into my career, and im getting straight up TOASTED on the straights from the AI. I have even done a good bit of aero R&D, but it doesnt even seem to be helping. Using overtake with DRS and the car in front of me is pulling away without DRS. Smh.

Thats been a major complaint. Apparently lowering the AI only makes them slower on turns but doesnt affect their straights.

I havent played since F1 2018, so I consider myself a noob at this game. I only have AI set to 60 and I see the same thing - I cant keep up on the straights even at that lower level.

I'm playing with it around 75-80 depending on tracks. And im finishing anywhere between 7 and 12 roughly so far. So im doing pretty decent i guess. The straight line speed is just killing me. I also feel like the practice sessions are way harder than last year. I was beating my deltas with purple scores by like 3-4 seconds last year. i feel like im always right on the cusp, +/-, of the target time now. So i've had to take more laps to reach my goals unfortunately.

This is also the first time i'm doing all 22 races with medium race lengths. Feels like im gonna be burning thru components.

And I've noticed that some AI drive really hard in the corners. Like Ocon... dude sent it multiple times on me this year. And pretty realistic with Ferrari starting off HOT and then having a double DNF last race lol

Try this website for a pretty good AI Difficulty slider: LINK

It's not perfect but 90% of the time gives me a solid race.

It's confirmed that practice is broken. So if you choose a certain AI Difficulty level that is perfect for qualifying and Race day, for whatever reason the times goals in practice are way too hard.

F1 Manager dropping on 8/25. Anyone getting it?

At first I was all in on getting it day 1. Nothing to do with that game specifically but I'm stilling playing F1 2022 a good bit, so I'm not sure I really need it now so I may wait a bit.

what race lengths are you all running with? I played F1 2019 on full race length but it gets pretty exhausting to be honest.

Do you feel like 25 or 50% still results in pretty realistic racing? When playing on a higher AI difficulty, it can take several laps to overtake one car that is within a couple of seconds, so I wanna know if 25 or 50 provides enough time to make progress in a race without racing for 75-90 minutes.

I am really pumped for it honestly. Ready to show I could easily run Ferrari strategy.
