It's not like I was far really. My main problem is I try to get 100% of every item at the same time when I really should just breeze through for the age of stars ending that I need and then screw around in NG.
It's also not bad once you get vigor to 40.

I decided to make things easier on myself and do the caelid dragon run farm and level up super quick. Fair as far as I'm concerned, just saves time.

I remember finding him on my first playthrough. I was scared shitless when i first saw this behemoth and it roared its arse of at me...surrounded by smaller dragons that were still massive.
I got to the Grace at the Fort and realized I could get close to his legs w/o aggroing the little ones...thought "I wonder if I can hit him?"
I smacked him and did like 0 damage, but he didn't move. So, I turned on some music and spent 30 minutes smacking his thighs just to see what would happen.
On playthroughs since then I have picked up a bleed weapon to make it go faster, but I was happy I found that free rune bank on my own without a wiki.

I'm getting okay with running from the first two bursts and rolling through the third.
I've gotten her to phase two twice so far. So there's that lol
I may respec to dump some points into faith. Because my 600 a hit ain't cutting it. I need more damage to give me more room for error.

Put golden vow on a secondary weapon and buff yourself.

Same for my first playthrough. I had Blasphemous Blade and beat her on the second try...I remember hearing folks talk about how impossible she was and I didn't understand why lol.
On my second playthrough I didn't use Blasphemous Blade and it took me a few hours over the course of a couple of days to get her down.

I've about decided I'm too sloppy to beat Malenia. Her life leech mechanic makes this a battle of attrition I can't outlive.
This is a super frustrating fight for me, and I'm not sure what to do other than keep trying and hope something different happens.
