Prince of Death build with death magic and spinning death scythe is my build. Love it. I’ve run about 6 builds through the end and it’s a fun one.

my favorite build was that like the extremely long katana. I would use that and the Ronin armor with the bloodslash ash of war. Very fun.

LINK

It’s centered around the Prince of Death Staff and Ancient Death Rancor. It’s INT/FTH and the staff is only really good at upwards of 80 in each (I think it’s the most powerful in the game at that scaling). I used the grave scythe with black flame tornado ash of war.

cleared the mountaintop of the giants last night.

I still contend that my favorite storyline is the Ironfist Alexander stuff. His progression from frail clay pot that would break into pieces on impact, to badass wingman against the Fire Giant is the stuff of legends. When he sprints up that hill full of determination to take on the Giant, it's hard not to get fired up and kick some arse.

I’ll probably do a third playthrough in the winter. I’ve only done strength/Dex builds. What should I do this time?

My first play was strength. My second was dex/bleed. Both playthroughs relied heavily on bows and ash summons when I couldn’t handle the melee.

This time I’m doing hybrid strength/int and have four main weapons I’ve upgraded….the grafted greatsword for pure strength damage, the dark moon greatsword for Int and frost, the moonveil for Int and bleed, and the troll knight’s sword for magic damage. It’s been a lot of fun. I’ll use spells for range, but I’ve mostly avoided ash summons with the exception of 4-5 bosses.

If you’re looking to do an int or fth based build, I’ve done a pyro/fireball build that was a lot of fun but you don’t get many of the good spells until late game. Also did a mage build with carian grandeur that’s a lot of fun and smashes. I’d also swap out the mlgs sometimes to vary things up. Both were fun

You can also check the fextralife builds page for a variety of different builds that look like a lot of fun

Just beat up on Malenia…only took me about 10-15 tries this time lol. Right around level 149 or 150 as I head into Farum Azula before wrapping this bitch up

I'm officially ready for the DLC now. Finished the STR/INT melee build run by beating Elden beast on try #5 or 6. I think it took me 3-4 attempts to get through Radagon and then only 2 tries to get Elden Beast. I remember being stuck on this final boss fight for a couple of days during my initial playthrough. Turns out he's really pretty easy.

Did the frenzied flame ending which to me is the most interesting ending. Haven't advanced to NG+ yet...decided to respec from INT to FTH and mess around with a few of the Faith scaling weapons and they are definitely interesting. Not sure if I'll want to run through the DLC with that or stick with the INT build.
