Developer Admits Impossible to Complete KOTOR II on Switch

These are the people that are working on the KOTOR remake
For the record, I ran into this exact bug. It happens right after your party splits into two groups and you finish the part that does not include the main character.
Basically, I used the cheat menu to port myself to a neutral location that allowed me to set my party members then ported myself to the area that's just after where the crash occurs. From there, I was able to continue the game with minimal issue
If not for the built in cheat menu that included with the Switch port, it would literally be impossible to get past that point in the game.

My game would always crash for me on PC once I made it to a certain point on korriban

At least you can do a workaround for it.
This is an old one but the Atari 7800 version of Impossible Mission lives up to its name.
The developer fricked up the way the game decides how to place hidden items to be found.
Specifically, there is only one background item you can access but never search… a computer terminal. They accidentally wrote it so that clues required to win the game are behind some of these terminals and therefore can never be found.
