Any progress over the weekend? Like the others said, reliving our excitement vicariously through your post-mortems is a whole lot of fun.

I made it to blight town. I leveled up a few times down in the swamp.

I ran around the boulder throwers to find the hit spider chick boss.

She's beat me 3 times. I decided to level up more since it was easy there. I remember reading that the slugs down there drop the titanite variety for upping your weapon between 5 and 10...so I've been collecting that. I'll go up 1 more level, get my main weapon as high as I can. And maybe up some armor before I tackle that boss again. And if I do really well with her, I'll go back and try Stray Demon.

I did notice that I used the Firekeeper Soul to make my estus flasks better, but I went to Firelight Shrine and the bonfire was out...says no firekeeper. Other fires are lit...what gives?

Wait until I can figure out how to sell stuff! Then I'm going to level up like a beast.

No but I think there is a clever way you can trade dung and other seemingly useless items

Idk how people were expected to find that out on their own. Look it up if you want. 'Ravens nest' or 'birds nest' trading ..something like that

While you're down there, don't miss out on Ash Lake and the Great Hollow. Outside of the Painted World, Ash Lake was the most interesting place in the game to me. I won't tell you how to get there, you have to figure that one out on your own. Or just google.

They're not that bad. I think there is only 4 or 5 spots where they occur. Once you get to one of the spots, and they disappear just quit game and reload, and they will usually reappear right next to you.

Go to the Great Hollow they said.

Go see it!

So, I saw it...with help of the clues on the ground...

And it took me 2-3 times, but I made my way to the bottom.

I died when I got to the large mushroom fighters.

I wanted to descend to get those 4000 souls that I left, and I was ambushed by a group of frogs...and one had a good angle on me and it cursed me!

Now I have half the health I had! I'm cursed because of the Hollow adventure.

Time to turn this into a positive...
So I read up on curses and it said I can fight ghosts now. And then I remember way back where I couldn't fight the banshees in the dark flooded area.

So I went there and tore up some of those banshees. Picking up cursed weapons along the way...

And I rand into Ingwald who can uncurse me. Instead of choosing to do that I said "No thanks" and kept exploring that area.

I eventually died and spawned back at the Swamp...which is the worst place to be cursed at...half health...

But what am I supposed to do when Firelink shrine is no longer lit?

My plan is to go and buy a way to uncurse myself and never step foot in the Great Hollow, at least until I can protect myself from curses like this.

I couldn't find a bonfire where the banshees were, otherwise I'd stay there and keep exploring. Good thing is I gathered a lot of souls there from exploring, so overall purchasing a curse cure is evened out for getting access to that new area to explore.

There's a way to restore the fire keeper, but you're not there yet.
