player made messages

Question about those messages. I see them on the ground but why aren't there a billion messages from players just always writing stuff? Is it just random that they load up when I play or what?

I've tried staying away from reading them but one did help with some crystal lizard or something

it requires a consumable i think and if someone rates it, it gives the person who made it health.

so people tend to use them for really good hints or really good trolls. plus the available vocabulary is limited

I got my zwei up to +5 before fighting them. And I don't wear any armor so I can fast roll. Ain't got time to mess around.

I believe it only loads when the player who wrote the message is online.

Ah ok. That is pretty cool. I haven't hopped back on but I'm still at the 2 gargoyles. I wasted my 3 sheets of electricity or whatever on them. Punishing that you don't get those back when you die but I dig it.

Once you push past them, you can finish the game. They help get you in the right mindset.

There are a couple other places that will push you, but stay focused, take a break when you get frustrated.

You can summon an NPC for this fight. Use humanity at the bonfire, and his sign is right before the entrance. It makes the fight a lot easier.

fuccboi hackers are all over the pc version. I have to backup my save folder anytime before going human . annoying. people will invade, curse you, break your stuff, then kill Andre

also, not a hack, just a troll, but I have to give props to the gravelord servants dropping their sign directly under the bridge the hellkite dragon is on

as soon as you touch the sign and port in , the dragon breaths fire and insta kills you

Script kiddies are the worst. Even worse, the devs have no clue how to fix it.

But that gravelord troll is the goat

So I noticed when I use humanity at the bonfire I can get more health potions (sorry I just don't remember the names of every thing right now). But when I am human other people can jump in and kick my arse? I mean if I understand correctly I can deal with that because once I die I go back to normal. Just kinda shitty that I have to open up to multiplayer to get more health.

I am most likely missing something. Yall helped me figure out what the hell things were in Bloodborne so I am expecting the same for this game dammit

The Firelink Shrine bonfire gives you 10 estrus refills. You can kindle other bonfires with humanity to make it also give you 10 estus

when you use humanity, you will see the humanity counter near your health and stamina go up. If you have 1 humanity, you can reverse hollowing and become a human. When you are a human, you are subject to invasions from both human and AI invaders. You are also able to summon help.

One of the other benefits of being human is that you can kindle bonfires using humanity. Every time you kindle a bonfire, you get 5 more estus from that bonfire for every subsequent playthrough on that character. So you can pop 4 humanity, reverse hollowing, then use your 3 remaining humanity to kindle a bonfire up to 20 estus. You will get 20 estus from that bonfire in NG, NG+, NG++, etc. You will also get it no matter what, it doesn't matter if you are human or hollow. You just need to be human to kindle it in the first place.

Most bonfires start at 5 and require 3 kindles to get to 20 estus. Bonfires with firekeepers (Firelink Shrine, Anor Londo, and Daughter of Chaos) start at 10 and only require 2 kindles to max your estus.

one thing i like to do before NG+ is farm humanity and kindle every bonfire to the max. That way, in all my subsequent playthroughs, I will get 20 estus from every single bonfire, no matter my form.

just wanted to add,
you also accumulate "soft humanity" (i.e. not an item you can use) , the longer you stay alive and the more souls you farm.

the more soft humanity you have, which is the counter in the top left, the more drops you will get when farming . and more usually means better

See I haven't gotten to these firekeepers yet. Do the estus become stronger? I have 10 now but was just wondering.

I think I am going to level up my guy just like I did in BB....strength, vitality, and dex. I picked the generic warrior to start it off.

Interesting. Does this reset when you go to the campfire?

yes you have, there is one at firelink. go to the edge below the fire and you will see her in a cage. firelink will always give you 10.

if you want to have a bloodborne type character, go VIT, END, and DEX. I level strength after I get Dex to 40. <25% equip load for fastest rolling.

nope. it only disappears when you use it to reverse hollowing/kindle, and you also lose it when you die. just like your souls, you can pick it up again, but if you dont pick it up and die again, you lose it.

you will also get soft humanity from random enemies, especially rats. make sure you're always checking that counter and use it if you need to.

the higher the soft humanity counter is, the higher your drop rate for rare items. maxes out at 10.

I must have missed that. When the bird dropped me off at the start I just got lucky and went the "right" way I guess? I'll go back to that area after I beat the gargoyles. May be able to hop on tonight but not sure. I don't want to loss steam so I need to just force myself to play tonight even if it's for 30 min.
