O+S seem to have drained my vigor for this quest. Ive been playing like shite since taking their souls. New Londo is kicking my arse, and it really shouldnt. Its gank city, for sure, but ive lost patience. Knowingly running into ganks, falling off the same sliver of path, getting dark handed, etc...

This zone doesnt appear like it should be very difficult, i prob just need to take a break.

new londo is kind of a bitch.

use transient curses

there are 3 other areas you can go explore after o&s

but yes , Dark Souls falls off a bit after anor londo.

Ya, i figured this out the hard way.

I dipped my toes into the catacombs first, after anor londo, and really wasnt feeling it yet. Im assuming the dukes archives is a nightmare as well. I feel appropriately leveled for new londo, just maybe rushing it a bit.

Any reason to rush into the artoias DLC right now? Seems like it would be closer to end game content.

It is, only reason to head in there early is if you're a sorcerer, there are some powerful spells in the DLC

you could go there if you wanted. very tough boss fights though.

there is a big zone under the blighttown bell you rang, too.

Ya, i scoped it out some. Those big mushroom dudes hit real hard and confuse me.

But i havet really discovered the point of the area yet. The hydra thing killed me a couple times and i moved on.

nah, on the other side. you are talking about the tree. im talking about what's below Quelaag

new londo
dukes archives
catacombs and below

then the area below the 2nd bell. you didn't mention it so I didn't know if you were aware it existed and is a viable option to go to

can be done in any order really. I always saved new londo for last because frick that place.

Oh shite, i forgot about that place. Good call. Havent been there at all yet.

Have a feeling the ole black knight sword will come in handy down that way.

That damn Darkroot Hydra fricking sucks.

Died prob 8 times. Its a half baked hell. Secret instant death drop offs. Snake heads clipping inside map features making hit boxes disappear. Water attacks have "interesting" damage range. And that last damn head would always land farther and farther away and lead me to insta death everytime, which i fell for cause by that point i was tired of the fight and ready for it to be over.

Wised up and lobbed fire bombs until dead. I hated every minute of it.

Yep. Just take a step or two into water to avoid his water blast, keep your shield up and when he slams his head into the ground just wack away at his closes head. Rinse and repeat till the last head was left, the sketchy one on the far left by the drop off. I ended up just shooting with arrows til it died.

Just put Gwyn out of his misery and tried to walk back to the Lord Vessel. Oops. Now im a Dark Lord.

Fantastic experience, game def dips toward the finish line, but the Artorias DLC really spiced things up.

Cant say too many Bosses were worthy challengers, especially some of the late game ones. I mean, Gwyn got bent over by 5 parries and a hornet ring. Im guessing some of the balancing was rushed in the latter stages. Also, being a Sould vet now, the more primitive AI was clearly exploitable.

Its cool how you can see some BloodBorne design slip into AotA. Chester is basically a hunter and Manus is very Cleric beast.

Ive never NG+ed a game, but i will prob do thru this one again.

Finally, bought this on Saturday and played again for the first time since it came out originally. Amazingly, I beat Ornstein and Smough on my first try. On the flip side I am ashamed of myself because it took me something like 10 tries to beat the Capra Demon.

Yeah, on just regular new game it dips toward the end... But I feel like that was made up for in NG+ and beyond
