I helped beat him early in a coop session. Nothing special happened.

I think he's there at that early part just to give you a preview of what you're up against, so you can prepare your anus.

only thing I can think of is maybe it's one of those things where something gets deposited into the primary character's inventory after killing him. A shade/phantom wouldn't get the benefit of it.

but yeah, you probably get nothing except the satisfaction.

scruffy

that would be the Pursuer.

I just beat the pursuer. Summoned in two phantoms and they distracted him while I shot the ballista

Definitely better to run the ballista than to be the bait.

Learned that the hard way.

Best sword I've found so far is that Drangleic sword near the pursuer.

Anyone find anything better?

Hmm, I'm not sure what sword you are referring to. So far I've found the Heidi sword or whatever it's called, the fire longsword, and a bastard sword. I've upped the bastard sword to +3, and have been pleasantly surprised how viable the game has been running around two handing a weapon and not using a shield.

Once you beat the pursuer as an area boss, you go past him and examine a bird nest to advance to the bastille. Right outside of the area you fight the pursuer and before the nest, there is a broken floor area you can look into and see a dead body with an orb that contains a full set of drangelic armor

Discovered a way to deal with the petrified woman at that one door switch.

Upgraded my drangleic sword to +1.

Things are looking up.

There is a covenant that guards Belfry Luna. If you are a member, you can die in a fire.

It's an easy way to get chunks, so people are joining in droves.

If you are human, you will get fricked with.

It sucks, because id like a little phantom support on the boss in that area.

Holy shite. I just had one hell of a boss battle.

The triple boss in lost Bastille.

I'm kicking arse with my bastard sword. Take down one and then get the other two down to about half health each.

Then, a warning pops on my screen saying that my sword is about to break.

Sure enough, it breaks.

Only other weapon I had as backup was a hand axe.

fricking took them down. Intense as shite.

Damn. That is why I love these games.
