Oh, I know. I've been working through it all yesterday. Said frick to the Smelter Demon until later and going straight for the big one now.
Also, did anyone else visit the area where they fought the Spider later on?
If you havnt, go back and take a look at the new addition to the fighting arena and what is up on the roof over the cliff.. Im smelling a return later on in the game

You know that chick that was waiting for you at the bonfire where you fought old ornstein?
Talk to her to run out her conversations and then return to that room you had to go through to get to that area with the symbol in the middle that you couldnt activate. She wil be there and activate it for 2000 souls and it opens a whole new area that you have to go through to get to the spider.

The four primal bonfires are behind Freja, Lost Sinner, Iron King, and The Rotten.
edit: Freja doesn't have the fourth Great Soul, but another boss down the road does have it. Still guards a primal bonfire, though.
