Yep I was getting bored last night trying to kill every last boss I could just to kill time before going after Gwyn. I want to get as strong as possible before NG+. I joined a group of two other people and went after him. He did not even get a chance to throw a second swing because we were destroying him. Killed him in about 15 seconds.
Easiest 60k souls I ever earned.

Start the game over with the same character retaining weapons/items and soul level.

I finally finished Demon's Souls for the first time just last week. Such an awesome game. I started my second playthrough of Dark Souls on PC last night. Looking forward to getting back into it. Praise the sun!

Yeah you start with your same guy and everything you had, minus your embers, but every boss and creature does something like twice the damage and has three times the health. It also just gets harder every playthrough from then on with that same character.
And to CornDog: Yes I tried four times to kill that guy and hes gotten me every time. I think taking his tail may be out of the question unless I just get lucky.

I used to think that taking Seath's tail was an exercise in impossibility, but I got that bastard.

ETA: I also intend to run around slaughtering all the NPCs of Lordran in order to collect their precious loot. Marvelous Chester and Lord's Blade Ciaran have already tasted my blade.
Not looking forward to trying to kill the various blacksmith characters. They look like they can hold their own in a fight.

no, I didn't get it, I was expressing my intention to not give up.
I suppose a better phrasing would be, it's as good as mine.
I think I'll try to recruit some poor saps to act as bait while I get to chopping on that tail.

too bad homeboy with the massive fricking bow can't keep chucking tree trunk sized arrows my way to provide some interference so I could lop this dickhead's tail off.
