been a while since I've been cursed, I walk on eggshells around those damned basilisks. 
I've managed to grab a few purging stones during my travels. I think divine blessing cures that shite too. best of luck.

I've spent an hour on him, and only managed to sever one head. My only play is to run past him, and come back later.

the hydra wouldn't be very fun with 1/2 health.
best to avoid and come back later.
silver lining - you can teleport to the stone dragon to come back and give that a-hole what for.
as for me, I'm just going around tying up loose ends. just rid the basement level of sen's fortress of all the titanite demons.
moonlight greatsword +4 is pretty impressive with 50 intelligence. I just wish I could find one more dragon scale to top this fricker off at +5.
just cost me 45000 souls to absolve myself of sin. I almost just said frick it...

nothing like being level 12 with a pyro glove +15. Finally beat ornstein and smaugh. i pretty much destroy all things, unless i get touched lol

This is good advice. I just climbed all the way back out. It actually wasn't a bad climb at all. Much easier than going down.
Tomorrow I'll un-curse myself and do something else. Not Ash Lake. frick that place.

I erred in trying to kill ash lake hydra while cursed. I got 2 heads cut off and just couldn't finish it. Went back while not cursed and little stronger...child's play.
Also, just defeated Pinwheel. Has to be the easiest boss in the game. Literally 20 seconds
When I have a bunch of souls but not quite enough to level up and I'm ready to move along, I just upgrade equipment or buy items. Purging stone was one of those items. Now I have one in stock in case I get cursed again. I think they are 6k souls from the vendor between Undead Burg and the depths. The one in the sewer

That's an option. But I think I'm just going to do Undead Asylum Revisited next, and I already have a cracked red eye orb to trade with the Crow in exchange for 2 purging stones.

I don't need it, and doubt I ever use it but I was about to embark on a certain death mission and didn't want to lose 17k souls so I had to spend it somewhere BTW: screw this game. It has totally absorbed me as of late. When I'm home and not hanging with the fam, I'm playing this. When I'm not at home, I want to be at home playing this. When I'm playing, I hate it and want to stop playing b/c I'm raging, but I can't

Not sure if its common knowledge due to just getting into ds recently but with the 4 kings you can deal damage to the health bar while one of the kings death animation happens(when it starts glowing and fades away). If your strong enough you can actually skip 1 or maybe even 2 of the kings
