re: Dark souls 2 ***No Spoiler***

Ehhhhhhhh, what weapon are you using? Granted I'm a mage but I use my rapier quite a bit and it hasn't broken on me before I could find a bonfire.

I've got the flame longsword and I backstab most hits on humanoid creatures.

I wasted 10 humanity on this wharf the slicer monkey spider freak bugs destroy me.

I lost nearly 10k souls accidentally entering a boss after going through a mist gate in the area you are taken to after beating the pursuer in the forest of giants. It's it was down in the tower to the left where you revive the guy blocking the door once you initially get there.

I'm assuming it's a boss, there were four really tall skinny Knights. I even summoned someone prior to going in and still got nailed. All of those souls

ETA: At least I got the ring that increases the number of souls received from killing enemies

You start on a ledge right? Yeah frick that fight

Only boss that gave me trouble in the original. frick those guys. I also started out as a Mage and was using swords though the beginning was tough, but after sufficient leveling, I breezed through the rest. Just hug every boss to win

I'm doing Old Iron King next time I play. I miss fighting the Fume Knight - the best boss in the game. Sl1'd that bitch.

The ruin sentinels were a cause of great frustration in my 360 playthrough. Not so much this time. I'd recommend summoning the NPC in one of the cells before heading in, it has a ton of health and powerful spells.

If you were the one having trouble with those long armed assholes, have a torch in one hand and light every fixture you see. It helps keep them back.

That's been my go-to weapon since I started the game. I watched a walk through on how to get it and went straight for it. I've got it up to +4 but can't upgrade it any higher until I find large titanite shards.

That's where I spent alot of time last night. Took the boards advice and focused on upgrading my weapons with that smitthy.

I did beat the pursuer, but I actually required summoning help for the first time :shame:. Kicked his arse with a team.

The area after that (2nd entrance to lost bastille) has the dull ember and some large titanite shards as you work your way to the blacksmith. So I upgraded my Heide sword to +4, put lightning on my hammer and got it to +4, lightning on my shortbow and got it to +2, and got my archdrake robes to +4. I only leveled myself once. Wow has that made a big difference!

The Rat King was exterminated after that (found disc chime in grave of saints ). I unpetrified the chick stuck on the switch by Majora, but quit after that.
